everyone's losing their shit about it, pretty much guarantees we'll get less than 6 inches Spoiler just like what I give snused's mom hah
All you guys whining. Here in Atlanta we're looking at all the precipitation and.... 40 degrees. Cold rain is the fucking worst.
I think 10.5 is about right. Expect it to be close and frustrating and then pull away at the end. Not as nervous about this one as its at home but our next two at home are absolute must-wins. Need that confidence heading into the second half of the ACC schedule which is much tougher.
I saw it before it got taken down. Not sure why they took it down but I was laughing my ass off. In fact, that's probably why they took it down.
didn't make it to the game in person, but was happy to watch at home. best game they've played since ND imo yeah Im sharing my thoughts in the thread and not a PM because others are most certainly interested.
the playing time battle between the frosh next year should be interesting. I wonder if it will emerge like Hall/Perrantes where one's ready to go right away and not the other
Agreed, although we still looked a little shaky on offense at times. Still lightyears better than we have been. Wake Forest game is huge as its our easiest road game left. Getting a road W would go a long way for this team. Guy will likely be more ready. I'm worried about Jerome after the hip surgery, but only time will tell with that. Hunter's videos look so impressive but feel he will take some time to truly contribute like Justin did, but expect him to get some decent minutes next year. Bigs after Nichols and Wilkins will be a huge question mark, and depend on who develops most over the next 9 months. It's nice that the Nichols/Diakite additions this year mean that we wont be completely retooling next year.
Huff could contribute too, but agree that the depth is still solid with the bigs. Certainly Nichols and Wilkins are the starters, but the Salt/Diakite/Huff could shake out in any order
naw I get it. I'll fall on that sword and bump it more haha. I just click on "alerts" and scroll til I find it.
If you use Chrome, I've found that its quicker than the Mainboard search. You just have to remember a couple words from the title. If I type "objectively wisconsin" into the chrome bar this comes right up.
Next year's FB schedule (dates not yet released): Home: Richmond C. Michigan Pitt UNC Miami L'Ville Away: Oregon UConn GT Duke Wake Tech Favorable away schedule and a pretty beautiful schedule for a rebuilding year. Can't wait for our first bowl since I became a grown up with money who can do things like go to bowls. Hope it's somewhere warm.
That would be ideal. $$ I save on flight/hotel means extra $$ for shots for all the players. Gotta get em in now before the whole team is Mormon.
Chippewas and UConn both bowl teams last year. Hope Bronco gets things righted quickly, but I'm hesitant to be optimistic re: making a bowl
I have no clue what the team will look like under Bronco (which is kind of fun) but I think we definitely have the talent to go bowling, and have for the last several years (horrific scheduling notwithstanding).
Hopefully last night serves as a catalyst, but I honestly think we beat Louisville even before last night. I just think that with no natural leaders, the team feeds on external energy and comes out flat when it has none. Wasn't going to be a problem at Louisville. I'm happy for the team but hope we don't forget how much we sucked for almost all of that game.
The Sabre @thesabre 3m3 minutes ago Lots of questions and discussions ongoing this season about #UVA's step back on the defensive end of the floor. The question is 'why'? The Sabre @thesabre 3m3 minutes ago Food for thought to shed some light on the answer ... The Sabre @thesabre 1m1 minute ago 82/200 available minutes belong to inexperienced players this season-41%. Last season, 22/200 or 11%. And 2 years ago, 54/200 or 27%. #UVA ^^^^ Interesting and something I hadn't really thought of. BUT, my counterargument would be that we have 2 seniors who are only getting sparse minutes (Tobey moreso than Nolte, but still not a bulk of minutes). Playing them hasn't helped.
Our bigs are just flat out poor defenders. Gill has always been a liability, Tobey is soft as hell- partly because he doesn't know how to not foul. Salt and Reuter are just too inexperienced, and honestly should never have been recruited for this system. Wilkins would be great, except hes 6'5. The answer to our D lies in the 2 people red-shirting this year. The packline ain't shit without a Atkins/Mitchell type patrolling the middle. We don't have a shotblocker anywhere on our team. We can't double as in years past because it'll lead to easy baskets. For this team to go where it wants to go Tony will have to say fuck it. The D is gonna suffer, but we can score. Turn LP,Brogdon, DT, Hall, and MS loose and we'll roll. Hell even Gill is better in transition. This team is lacking aggression and emotion. Let them go and they'll flourish.
Reuters footwork might be the best of any of our bigs besides gill, but he's just as undersized as Wilkins and nowhere near as athletic. I'll be interested to see what happens with him. Salt is playing okay for a RS FR. He's probably never going to be a good scorer but is athletic enough to turn into a decent defender and can hopefully become a good rebounder because we're going to need that in the future.
Let's be honest, we have some fat to cut from the roster if we want to continue to be a top 10 program.
I dunno, Reuter and Salt are the obvious candidates to not contribute but they've been decent for first year players. Someone is gonna transfer (they always do) but at this point I don't see anyone that it's glaringly obvious can't contribute down the road. Truth is that you're going to need guys on your roster who can come in for 10-12 good minutes per game and expect nothing more than a chance to MAYBE start their junior or senior year. I think we have those guys. Getting higher ranked guys who are willing to come in and ride pine for the majority of their career is a luxury only a couple programs have, and I don't think we're quite there yet.
honestly been really impressed with Reuter overall - and you can't argue with Salt's size. I can see being skeptical with how he'll progress, but still worth the scholly imo
I have no issues with Salt. He's shown flashes on defense and bigs seem to take longer to develop. Reuter has had his moments. He saved us vs Cal
Bennett's recipe seems to involve taking raw, athletic bigs and giving them time to develop. Diakite and Nichols will be our first bigs who weren't a 3 star or below aside from Tobey and Nolte who, well...
