Grabbing Coleman or Barcello in 2017 would be huge. If Nichols doesn't leave early for the NBA and we get standard Bennett-level development out of a handful of our current guys, that team will be absurd.
My hope is Shayok becomes the player we all think he can be at the 3. In 2016 hope we start: London Guy Shayok Wilkins Nichols
I have faith that Shayok is going to continue to improve. I think we go London/Hall/Shayok/Wilkins/Nichols with Guy, Salt and Diakite providing major bench minutes. Thompson is the upperclassman I sort of see as the odd man out right now. He doesn't provide much offensively and hasn't been the lock down defender I hoped he'd be. He brings an athleticism we're lacking elsewhere, but that's about it and I don't quite see how it translates to our style of play. But he's unlikely to head elsewhere and feel free to quote this when he blows up into one of our best players.
Other than Diakite, I'm interested in seeing how the kid from Philly plays. I could see him taking minutes at the 3 too. One thing is for sure with this class, we won't be worried about our 3 point shooting for 4 years.
Im just gonna bitch for a moment - the highest rate in state recruit to pick either program is #14 - Clark yarborough chose Stanford - Duke got verbals from two top 10 va kids - from Briar Woods and Benedictine - our highest rated in state recruit is #18 - a bayside kid went to VT
UVA and VT combined have never, together, been as bad as they are right now. I have faith that CBM will lock down guys like Yarborough (who was a true bell weather recruit about how shitty our program had gotten) and the Duke signees. Other than that, I don't see him locking down the state like London tried to. It's gonna be all about fit/character. More basketball style recruiting than football, and definitely closer to Groh than London. Once more than 20% of the 757 kids end up all they're hyped up to be, I'll be sad at losing out on them.
the only 757 kid that bothered me was Taylor. as far as that area is concerned i will be happy if we can have a good relationship with the coaches from that region and take the kids that don't need to be lied to or promised starting roles. very upset we lost out on kids that are right in our wheelhouse. i am still shocked about Virginia T, with the staff staying put i imagined they would have pulled a few of the higher rated kids.
I don't know/follow anything for recruiting, but I know that VT did none all season until after Fuente was hired.
Kinda love this. Basically just saying, "You better come in busting your ass." Competition is good and, if you haven't gotten to a point where you play in any year, you get a bonus year on the back end. However, it does mean I'm also trusting him to not be London and play a kid for 4 series in a season.
Not really sure its a good strategy at all. This isn't BYU where the kids are gone on a mission trip for a couple years.
Official UVA Football twitter account teased BREAKING NEWS this afternoon. Gonna be pissed if its something stupid.
Is it just me or do any of you guys cringe when you see guys continue to have expectations for Andrew Brown? what a worthless soft player. was slow and soft in high school and still is.
I thought he was soft because all he would tweet about was his god damn girlfriend like some pussy whipped bitch.
a good bunch of could-see-it-either way games. I think 3-1 is the most likely option, but wouldn't be shocked to drop UNC and Miami
