Just got my shipping notification. I believe my estimate was the last week of October but I can't remember exactly. Departed China last night and will apparently arrive next Wednesday.
Has everyone done this latest update? I havent. Im currently on 9.3.5 Is there a setting i can change so my phone stops asking me to update? This shit is getting old.
Bc i like my phone as is i guess. My wife did the update and it changed her text messages and some other stuff. Im kind of standoffish and fear change or something or another. :/
Update your fucking phone. Having a software update and dozens of app updates and thousands of unread email notifications is a woman move. Get your shit together.
Verizon had a ship date of 11/16 and a preorder number attached to my order. Now it's a regular order number and just says processing. No charge, no email. Does this mean it's likely shipping soon?
Soooo Apple is actually pushing hard to get people to update due to an exploit open in their previous versions which Chinese have used to access some Apple accounts. They can use it to gain access to the Apple ID and then use it to blast out spam. It was actually discussed in this thread I believe. It also happened to a friend of mine. Usually they just put a notification on the Setting app but in this case they are trying to close a backdoor some "hackers" are using. So i would recommend going ahead and updating. Or not. I don't give a shit.
you guys that are getting shipping notifications on 7+ which carrier are you on? I ordered my 7+ a few days after the release at ATT and the estimated ship date was oct 24. I haven't gotten a ship notification yet.
7+ 256 on ATT. Estimated oct 14. Got late September. I kept checking on my order and once I saw it shipped it was I think 3 days.
Doesn't work the same, have to hold it longer seems like and sometimes it just brings up that haha, thumbs up or thumbs down bullshit Maybe I've gotten fat and its gone to my thumbs?
Just got my 7 plus last night and I know a lot of people have complained about the new home button, but I have to say I actually really like it. Works extremely well and honestly doesn't seem to feel a ton different. Also the phone is fast af.
I love the update. I've told my folks not to do it. I don't need to spend 20 minutes/3 times a week explaining to them how to use their phones.
The piano black? Elago has a piano black case and a matte black case. They just don't offer a ton of protection if you're clumsy. They just look beautiful.
Speaking of apple stuff I put a new SSD and a new battery in my wife's mid 2010 MB Pro for $120 and now it's faster than it's ever been. I did the same with my 2008 iMac a couple years ago and it's also fast as shit. So we're rocking two computers that are 6 and 8 years old that work great with less than $300 in total upgrades over a combined 14 years But Mac hardware is overpriced and you can't upgrade them you just have to buy a new one lol
Can't recommend SSDs enough. They are the easiest way to extend the life of your computer and also give it the biggest performance boost. They have become ridiculously cheap to from a few years ago. Crucial is a good brand. I've used at least 50 of them at my job to get more life out of our equipment.
Is it as easy as replacing RAM? I upgraded my mid 2012 13in MBP from 4 to 8gb but it's been slower lately and thinking of replacing it with this:
It's more time consuming but still not difficult. I haven't replaced a drive on a Mac so make sure your model can be easily replaced. Before you replace the hard drive though, you want to clone your drive so you can just swap the drives out. A program like Super Duper should be able to copy the drive. When you buy the drive, make sure to purchase a SATA to USB cable so you can connect the new drive to the MAC and copy old drive to it. Cable should be a recommended item when your buying the drive.
Thanks, I think I already have one of those cables when I was using an external to expand my DVR space and it uses usb-SATA I believe. I could also use Time Machine to restore the drive once it's swapped out, right?
went with the standard issue black leather case made by Apple and love it. they changed the power and volume rocker buttons to be plastic and it helps a lot. Leather is also a good gripper with such a big phone and my little donald trump hands
Ifixit has great step by step guides for HDs, batteries, ram, etc for nearly every Mac type https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Pro+13-Inch+Unibody+Mid+2012+Hard+Drive+Replacement/10378
What year is the air? This will determine what type of drive you will need and cost. Shouldn't be that high though.
I was just looking at that link that GFA posted. I have a mid-2013 13" Macbook Air https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Mac/Macbook-Air-11-Inch-and-13-Inch-Mid-2013-Early-2014/IF188-105-7
My 7+'s battery drains way faster than my 5S ever did. I wonder what setting I have on it that causes that...
