I kind of have to laugh that for all the 1st round picks traded, Jimmy signings, etc. here we are with a super bowl caliber roster and our QB is literally the last pick in the draft.
Was going to come in here and talk about our new franchise QB but the Deebo injury ruined my weekend.
I, of course, have long been aware of those nicknames but for those less learned then us maybe you should elaborate.
It will be fascinating to see what happens. The first two games have been nearly flawless from Brock and he brings something Jimmy never had nor any of the previous back ups (the ability to be elusive). The big test will be once teams stop blitzing all out. Miami did it often which is understandable given it was his first game. The Bucs did it more than I expected and the results were the same against Miami. I am concerned on Purdy’s size and the ability to keep up over the season. Also TBD on how he does against teams that rush 4 and drop 7 as his pick (weak hold in my opinion) was against that and getting too risky like Jimmy. However if he passes that test and it is just the size concerns and we make a strong push in the postseason Kyle will have a tough decision. Jimmy certainly has to be gone as Brock is an upgrade there. Maybe Trey becomes a cheap back up aka Jordan Love which seems like a waste of draft capital as you could recoup some of that. But a lot to be excited about initially. He is more accurate than Trey, he is decisive, he can evade pressure. He doesn’t have the biggest arm which goes to Trey, but Kyle’s offense doesn’t require it to be. The TD he threw to Aiyuk was under thrown but he also couldn’t step into the throw and had enough on it for it to still be a TD.
it's just wild that what has the potential to be an all time bonehead move could be forgiven because of who you took as Mr. Irrelevant
What if Josh Johnson comes out on Thursday and throws for 400 and 5 tds? This has been a wild ass season
It does make me laugh that after all this, in the moment it looks the bleakest, they could have just stumbled into a qb.
And Purdy is day to day doesn’t sound too serious and Lombardi thinks there is a good chance he plays.
Y’all think there’s any chance DeMeco isn’t a HC next year? I’d ideally love for him to stay as DC until Saban retires but think that’s got virtually no shot of happening.
Pretty much. Not much has changed schematic but he has improved the secondary over Saleh. That was by far our weakest spot and still is. Just more serviceable.
