Where have I referenced any article? I am simply referring to your last 2 sentences after u posted the article, how are u seriously confused? Or are you really like this?
You responded to a post with one but let's disregard that and let's go back to your initial response then. This implies that the only difference between those different groups' interactions is that one group has weapons. A secondary implication would be that the armed group can shoot those dogs (and get away with it). Answer me this. If a pizza man was allowed to carry a weapon (which some may be depending on different state laws) and a dog was barking at him in the yard and he shot it so that he could deliver the pizza to the door, do you think he would be brought up on charges or would he be protected because he was just trying to do his job and felt he was in danger?
Yes I was responded to this part How is this so hard to comprehend? See I am still answering your question about your general curiosity as to why you hear more about the police having "difficult times" with dogs and not pizza or postal delivery men. I don't think you have comprehended that so far Do you know how often we get animal calls where a pizza delivery man, or postal service employee being bitten by a dog? Or more commonly a dog getting out of a yard and attacking a child playing in the neighborhood or a neighbor or even its owner(which I had recently)? Often. Do you think you would "hear" about that? Doubt it, don't know why you would because honestly it isn't something that the media would want to cover unless the injuries are serious Now had that pizza delivery guy, postal service worker, child, neighbor etc. had a gun to defend themselves from the attacking dog do you think they would have used to on the dog? I'll give you a scenario and I'm genuinely curious as to your response: You are a police officer, you respond to a call where the info you have is that it is a domestic dispute between husband and wife and the husband has physically attacked the wife. You show up on scene and notice the house is surrounded by a gate. Right before you open the gate a 90 pound pitbull comes sprinting towards you barking. what do you do?
Barves2125 what Jack Parkman is saying is that 1. pizza guys and mail men don't carry guns that's is why they don't shoot dogs. 2. If there is a dog who threatens them they (unlike cops) can just leave. 3. Their jobs are not as stressful thus they are not on edge as much as cops. That is why mailman men and pizza guys don't shot dogs as much as cops.
1. Agreed. 2. Not really. They figure out a better way to do what they came to do. Probably call the recipient and work it out. I'm aware that's not always a possibility with police. 3. This seems like an excuse for shooting dogs but not a valid one. That so-called "being on edge" is something you're signing up for. Weird analogy but it was tongue in cheek at first. His initial response is what was so absurd. The implication I previously addressed.
Florida police officer taunts homeless man in custody by throwing peanuts into his mouth in a cruel game. https://au.news.yahoo.com/world/a/2...d-for-taunting-homeless-man-with-food/?cmp=fb In the grand scheme of things posted in this thread, this one isn't that bad because at least no one is badly injured or killed. But this disgustingly inhumane treatment of this man goes to show you how lacking in compassion and empathy some people are. And this one happens to be a cop.
When we enter homes and dogs are uncontrolled, it can be pretty fucking scary. We've been on some full arrests, seizures, or other severe calls where there is a giant, confused dog just trying to protect its owner. We've had a couple guys get bit. The problem is, do you back out and wait for the police, or do you forge ahead and try to control the animal yourself because you have a very sick(or dying) patient that cannot wait? What do I do if the dog attacks me? Am I allowed to subdue and possibly kill it in a worst case scenario? Or am I supposed to just eat shit and let it go after me?
Police chief of Cincinnati already warning that the video isn't good, and expecting violence. If the Police Chief is already saying this, it must be pretty damn bad because they will defend each other until the bitter end in most cases. http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news...ith-leaders-to-discuss-deadly-police-shooting
Yeah, it's definitely not a very likely scenario that one of us would actually kill the dog, I was just covering all the bases. Say the dog was on top of one of my guys and I kicked it, which lead to its demise.
Yea that was a pretty horrible analogy by Braves. I do agree that in a situation where the dog is tied up or contained there was most likely a way to handle it without shooting the dog. Unless the case is over, I'm assuming the cop is going to be punished. My friend used to repo cars and they always took an off duty cop with them. Said cop had to shoot a dog one time that the owner let out of the back yard after telling them "my dog is going to tear y'all up". He than let dog lose despite warnings from the cop. Cop gave him one more warning as the dog charged them, pulled out his gun and put the dog down.

To satisfy my own curiosity, at what point do I have to comply when an officer tells me to get out of my car? NoleNBlue
Can't watch the video at the moment so I'll just say good that he got indicted, since I'm assuming he deserved it
Very much so. Not as bad as the straight up murder of that one cop shooting that older guy in the back, but up there.
why did the guy turn his car on and try to flee? shit people do doesn't make any fucking sense to me.
if I knew I wouldn't ask. if i knew I wouldn't say his actions confused me. not sure what you're getting at.
No idea what cops are taught, but that's not the first video I've seen of a cop ducking into the cabin of a car trying to rip keys out of the ignition. Seems like a lot more bad can happen than good at that point. If the guy bolts, he bolts. You'll catch him later.
and the cop is going to argue he felt his life was in danger and get off. edit. the question was rhetorical. attempting to flee was not a good idea.
If the guy was wanted for murder, I'm assuming they'd perform a felony stop and there wouldn't be a cop in that close proximity to the car door. Then there's always the good, old fashioned high-speed chase. My point is lunging into a car doesn't appear to be an oft successful tactic.
They stopped the guy. The cop had no idea who he was thus he asked for his ID/license. Your fuck it let him go point is beyond stupid. You can't just let everyone who flees go. My point is what if they found out they let a murderer just flee? People would bitch about cops not doing their jobs. This guy doesn't attempt to run over a cop with his car he doesn't get shot****. ****edit. Playing devils advocate and assuming that is what will be argued.
You are the most argumentative slapdick on TMB. And you're not good at arguing. There are alternatives to diving into a car and trying to remove the keys from the ignition. How easy do you think it is to do that when there's not someone sitting in the driver seat trying to stop you?
The prosecutor disagrees @FOX19: "He wasn't dealing with someone who was wanted for murder," Deters says "He was dealing with someone who didn't have a front license plate."
