I heard an interesting thought today... It's funny that a lot of these people who are outraged over career criminals making bad choices and getting killed by cops, are also dead-set in favor of abortion. Just kinda funny to think about.
Yeah, it's also kind of peculiar when people who are dead set against abortion are also in favor of the death penalty. Lots of hypocrisy on each side of the coin.
A lot of this crap could be avoided if cops would just pick their battles. No matter how confrontational somebody is being, a speeding ticket or littering shouldn't escalate into a shooting. If they want to ask ridiculous, just give them the ticket and walk away. The obvious problem with that though is the first time a video surfaces of somebody being difficult and the cop saying "forget it, move along now", everybody would be do the same thing
Let's not go down that rabbit hole. Anti-abortion groups feel it's ridiculous because one is an innocent baby and the other deserves it for murdering people. Pro-abortion groups feel it's ridiculous to compare one living human to a potentially non-viable fetus, no matter what the criminal human has done. most people see it one of those two ways and will never understand or agree with the other side's logic.
This. MTA is in charge of all the NY/NJ/CT bridges and tunnels. I have always know it to be illegal, I have seen the sign on the bridges and tunnel, so I have never bothered to look it up.
Yea MTA doesn't seem to have a lot of rules from a quick google search, Port Authority does though. Of course either one hanging a sign in an area saying "no recording" probably trumps the normal policy.
Wasn't really trying to open that discussion. Just wondered what Steve's pseudo logic was gonna say. And, for the record, I wasn't trying to discuss capital punishment. Was referring to the people Steve claims deserve to be killed for attempting to flee the police and whatnot.
please stop using this line. No one has used 'deserved to be killed'. People always twist a thought like 'If X didn't do Y, they probably would still be alive' into 'X deserves to be killed because he did Y?!'
Apologies. I guess "deserve" isn't technically what he said. "If the kid has a pattern of crime, I don't really care if he is dead. Call me cold, but the world is a better place without criminals."
don't follow the thread that closely so didn't know this was what you were referencing. I was more referencing the turn around I see in many of the threads on here
It's Farva. You know enough to know he's said a bunch of stupid shit in this thread to try and rile people up. Some of them:
My brother is SWAT and they hit the wrong house because the address on the warrant was written for the wrong house. They ended up busting down the door and tackling a friend of mines grandpa on the ground, and my friends son ran into a back closet screaming because he was scared shitless. They knew pretty much immediately it was the wrong house but still had to secure everything. The guys they were looking for were Mexicans that were staying up the road that were involved in a shooting the night before. Swat ended up going back to the first house in their gear and talking to the young boy they scared the shit out of and apologizing to the family, etc.
HUGE difference between saying someone deserves death, and saying you don't care if someone's dead. This is the type of "critical thinking" we're dealing with from guys like you, Duke, etc.
We aren't discussing abortion. We are discussing the logic. It's no different than if beo was arguing he isn't pro-hate, he's just pro-heritage while waving his confederate flag.
I think what often happens is a guy gets pulled over for speeding and has warrants, is on probation, has back child support, etc. that will become an issue once the cop runs his information. Given this, the guy who was pulled over for something as simple as speeding will go to great, illegal, lengths to avoid his impending arrest. or, he has something in the car or on him that will be a big problem, guns, drugs, whatever. So they take off, or fight the cop, or shoot the cop. But in general, I think most people are upset or annoyed that they got a ticket, like Sandra Bland. In those cases it's almost always better to take the high road and not escalate the situation. The dilemma all cops have is which cases are Sandra Bland and which are the criminal trying to avoid going to jail?
I didn't mean anything by it, it's just the word that came out, but what's wrong with that? It's technically accurate, right?
We're on the same page. 99.99% of the time, no matter how much of a dick a cop may be, I think the situation never escalates if the person just complies and says "yes" "no" etc. I do think though, that there are a few situations where cops should just walk away (once they determine it's not a dangerous criminal). It's sort of like when cops decide to give up on a car chase if it becomes too dangerous, but the in-person version of that.
I don't think pro-choice is the same as pro-abortion. Just because one thinks a woman should have the right to choose doesn't mean you agree or would have an abortion. Often when people say "pro-abortion " they mean it like pro-murder.
I think they are different things. If you don't, that's okay. I am not attempting to change anyone's opinion. I don't think people have to be for the death penalty and pro choice. I don't think if you're against the death penalty you have to be pro-life. Both are complex issues.
Nah, we're good. I'd like to know if Hoss Bonaventure thinks girls should be allowed to have an abortion the day before a scheduled C-section.
Yet, you did take it elsewhere. Thanks, babe. http://the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/are-you-afraid-of-the-gun.158981/page-14
Yeah, sure. Fucking last minute decision. Fuck it. Not sure the reasoning in having all the negative physical shit that comes with carrying the fucker to full term but whatever.
Somebody make an abortion thread so a bunch of dudes with dicks can go complain about what bitches they don't know do with their lady parts.
So you trust our government with human life... do you trust them with other things? Like taking care of our veterans? Going to war? Improving our economy?
