HBO is combining two crappy shows it's already made in Arli$$ and Entourage, and The Rock is more overexposed than Jenna Jameson's vagina.
I'd like to think of it as a black Entourage if it was on any other channel, I probably wouldnt watch it but its HBO and its on during the summer so why not. what else am I gonna do
I thought it was good. Also they're using NFL team logos/names/etc and don't have the NFL's permission but they found a loophole where they don't have to. First thing I've ever actually had a reason to go to the Coli. Found out from the Coli Ballers thread that black guys really like to discuss nipples. It is a lot like an NFL version Entourage. Lots of naked women, parties, and cameos. Stephen Jackson, Desean Jackson, and Antonio Brown were on the first episode. Looks like Arielle Kebbel is going to be on it who I'm a fan of.
well it has two of Entourage's EPs on it, including Mark Wahlberg plus it has Peter Berg directing it, who did a pretty good job with the FNL series (TV and movie)
yeah I didn't notice nipple rings until someone on the coli posted about it and I had to do a rewind.
yeah I did one more search and found it. She gets roles because she gets naked. Looks like that's about all she does as far as being an "actress"
Pretty shitty night for HBO. Ballers is nothing special, but it has tittays, sports, drugs and the rock so I will watch. True Detective opener was rough. Brink was ok.
im fine with 'entourage for football' but Dwayne Johnson is just brutal to watch and there's no comedic characters/actors on the level of Ari or Drama. will watch of course but hard to see this one getting mire than two seasons ...
I do agree that they need better side characters. I did not like the retired OL at all. But even in Entourage, Adrian Grenier or however you spell it, was the worst actor on the show. His scenes were just painful.
The retired ol is awful in everything he's ever done yet gets nonstop work. I don't understand Hollywood.
Dump you and I both know there's plenty of fat people in America. It isn't exactly rare to find a black guy big enough to look like an OL
He looks like he's about 22, only played football in high school, and played o-line because he was such a fatty that was all he could do. Terrible casting
agreed, unless "retired" is his way of saying he played 1 or 2 seasons as a UDFA and washed out (which is kind of what I though they were going for), its an awful casing job. As it is, none of the characters were very compelling, but if the premise is just sports Entourage with guranteed titties every episode, I'm probably im for 2 seasons at least.
This series would be good if they used real life stories from actual players, the 1990's Cowboys would be amazing and some of those players are broke enough now to talk.
Slot WR, not that big. I'm not buying the Rock's eulogy though, talking bout how the dead guy loved his family when the whole crowd knows he died in the car with his mistress ...
What is tucked-in-polo doing in a club like that? As much as I enjoyed the titties, was it necessary for him to be banging out some hostess Before the guy talked shit? Did showing his girlfriend later make any sense? Was there even any news coverage on the incident? Has a club fight ever stopped a team from releasing an All-pro receiver? Wouldn't the Raiders be salivating over this guy getting cut?
Have you ever been a funeral, though? That's what people do- they ignore the bad and hone in on the good.
Yeah the pilot wasn't very well thought out. Must have been a lazy development process stage to let a script come out like that.
