Vernon getting surgery right away seemed a bit ridiculous but no reason to get caught up in small details. Charles does suck, doesn't deserve his tv wife.
So im watching this show Sunday as my wife walks through the living room and says "holy shit". I ask her what's up and she proceedsaid to tell me she went to high school with this new guy Travis. Town of about 2000 people. She couldn't believe he was on a show with the rock.
Torn achilles' usually get operated on within 24-48 hours if possible. An athlete having that done ASAP seems completely believable imo
An athlete being wheeled in from his house to see the doctor and the guy turning and saying "prep the OR" right there and then is flat out absurd. And then LOL at a CT scan for confirmation.
Pro athletes get bumped to the top of the line. Wife used to work in X-ray and players show up out of the blue with team doctors and bam, everyone waits. And if it's a private clinic even more plausible.
Sorry I started this. Just thought it was absurd that Vernon just popped up and had surgery before the Cowboys even knew about it.
pretty sure i saw a gator in the water actually we talking manslaughter now this show is out of control
this kid better pay off or it'd be pathetic for a big time agent to put up with something like that. well, it still is pathetic.
That last night was the best ep yet. Actually some substance. Wonder who else the Rock was in on with in that 2008 real estate investment. Can't be good for him
Thought the last two episodes added more depth to the story and enjoyed both. Maybe it's hitting its stride finally. Also it's a no brainer. You take the offer for NOLA. Stupid old man.
I don't understand how they have NFL players advising them and still fuck up basic things like suggesting 20+ reps on bench is weak for a LB when 23 reps was #3 overall for LBs in 2016
most interviews I see they always talk about how you're much better off with the money offer (Bills). You are there to focus anyway. 2 million more in the bank? That alone could secure retirement years.
Just because they are picked #3 doesnt mean its weak. And the guy on the show is more of a pass rush specialist than a LB
I don't think you understood my post. I'm saying 20+ reps is NOT weak and would have been in line with the top performances at the combine
it's because the show is an abject failure in every way concievable. terribly written, terribly acted ...
who the fuck knows? he's a hot head redneck LB from FSU. anything past that is your own conjecture. continue your attempts to explore the show's "depth" if you wish. it's simply not there ...
comes out of retirement, becomes a "pro-bowler" ... then gets cut the next year and ends up cutting the guy who replaced him. yeah, cause. NFL FOs are all about working through 3 players for one spot in one off season
definitely my biggest issue with the show. I remember reading an interview with Mendenhall about being a consultant on the show and one thing he misses the most would be his strength/lift #'s would make him feel like a superhero. on top of that, Peter Berg is involved and he played a big part in both the FNL movie and tv show, in addition to other sports related projects (I remember him doing a 30 for 30). I do wonder if getting the NFL on board meant the league had some input, they have rejected features EA wanted to add to Madden, they basically killed off Playmakers on ESPN. ---- Charles is a goof. I cant really expect a guy to be a mirror image of an actual Pro Bowl LT, but he looks so damn soft. No GM would be convinced to hire a player to a front office position after a fairly basic conversation.
in promoting the show, they have mentioned the use of former players in order to create a more realistic and accurate show.
fiction does not allow for a complete departure from reality, especially if the target audience is sports fans. but even viewing the show as a non-sports fan, it's not funny or compelling in the least, and features a cast of atrocious actors ...
the level to which it sucks fascinates me. and it's sandwiched between The Night Of and Vice Principals ...
