I thought the Stein Haus concept was pretty cool. Watching the LA Brewing Co right now. So much potential, so little brain.
Watching some awful ass Irish bar one now and look up and the bar consultant is a guy I know. Did work with him when he was with Bushmills and they hired me.
I spent way too much of my Sunday watching this. Last one I watched was this quasi-strip club lounge in Miami. They were giving out free bottles if you came in as a group of six. Could be six dudes. I mean fucking seriously?
catching up on this season. the beach bar episode where the owner's son died taffer dropping the single tear was a top 5 moment i love this show and i love jon taffer
Went to a bar by me earlier today to grab a drink and I asked the owner what they were filming at his other bar a few weeks ago and he said Bar Rescue. Anyways he wasn't able to too much about it except a few things we probably already have a good idea about. For example the producers cast/choose which staff members they want to film, they purposely caused/created problems on the stress test and only gave him one keg of beer to sell and it was blown in 10 mins. Show airs at the end of August iirc.
I just pulled in to a bar on the way home. As soon as I ordered a drink a lady told me they are filming Bar Rescue the Return or something. The bar with water in the basement and Big Smo. M T Bottle
I love the show, but it's difficult to ignore the obvious fact it has to be one of the most scripted "reality shows" on TV. I mean, the crew installs "hidden" cameras before Taffer and his crew arrive, but we are expected to believe they are surprised when he walks through the door? Please. Obviously producers tell the chosen staff to play up their crazy behavior so they have some good television to begin the hour. It's simply silly to think most of it is not scripted.
I mean no fucking shit, it's reality TV. My gf sort of knows the guy that is the owner of the comedy club in Scottsdale that was on the show. He's fucking bats for sure. Tried to suck one of her straight friend's dicks one night.
Watching them go back to bars and see how they are doing. So far lots of failure cause the owners don't keep the changes.
It's the same thing every week. I guess after 4-5 seasons it gets pretty boring. On another note the bar I mentioned itt is supposedly airing in the next few weeks, so I will definitely watch.
It's that and I feel like both Taffer and most of the bar employees have been hamming it up for the cameras more and more.
Of course they are dialing it all up for the cameras. The show installs "hidden" cameras in the bar to document the staff behavior, yet everyone acts surprised when Taffer walks through the door? Please. It's obvious producers make sure the staff acts their absolute worst the night Taffer "happens" to do his surveillance. Still enjoy the show though, especially when I yelp the bars after the show and see they've actually made changes.
I thought last episode was pretty good Liked Taffer being able to tell Maria what to do/order via the earpiece.
I guess I need to watch the last episode as Brix is the restaurant that was featured. His sister bar/restaurant is down the street from me which is ok.
teel posted a snippet of tonight's w big cat in the random thoughts thread. sucks theyre in the burbs :/
@KFCBarstool: Yo. If you order catfish at that bar you deserve everything coming your way, Barstool Dave.
On last week's episode Rick told me that the producers unplugged his POS system. I'll have to go in to his other store soon and ask him about the show and his experience now that it has aired. I drove by the place on the relaunch and they had a big crowd outside. that I didn't know it was Bar Rescue and I didn't try to go in.
Also at the show using shots from both of his locations and not acknowledging the fact that he has a second restaurant.
last couple concepts were head scratchers to me.... the haunted library theme for a blue collar Cali town? The steakhouse theme? I couldn't imagine either of those succeeding at all long term in those enviroments Big Cat was clearly coked out when he walked in to that sports bar- dude couldnt stop touching his nose
The show changed a lot from first to second season, Taffer wasn't as loud and "SHUT IT DOWN!!!" the first season, and stuff seemed more mellow and went over the actual things done to improve a place in better detail. But yeah they know they're coming, just not exactly sure of when/what time to expect them
Yeah I enjoy the stats and thought processes behind the changes. Don't really care about the personalities of the workers.
Jon TafferVerified account@jontaffer My last picture with Sam as a Taffer just moments before I walk her down the aisle! #wedding #proudfather
Enjoying bartenders crush him for his lack of knowledge. https://munchies.vice.com/en/articles/why-the-bartending-world-is-pissed-at-jon-taffer-of-bar-rescue
