http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/20120410/bayern-dortmund/ today at 2 biggest game of the Bundesliga season I'd say Dortmund wins 2-1
Really want to see this match, hopefully there is a good stream. Biggest league match in Europe, other than the Clasico of course.
85-times pitted against Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on. The duel tonight (LIVE! at kicker online from 20 clock) is dedicated to the championship race, an incredible 450,000 Ticket requests were received by the Borussia.
Really wouldn't mind seeing this Dortmund team kept together, seems like they should be able to keep most of that team. If they can hold onto Klopp, Kagawa, and Gotze for a little while they could be consistent contenders in Europe. Would be nice to add new blood to the top table, or at least the level below Barca/Real.
And Terrence Boyd Boyd actually will probably be more a player for mid-table BL club. Dortmund also has a really good FW prospect coming up, Marvin Ducksch. Their scouting and developing has been great these past few years and why where they are today.
Defensive blunder for Dortmund 1st goal. Nice pass by Kuba to put Kagawa on a plate after the blunder. Penalties for both sides. Both were the right call. Neuer could have saved his. Dortmund go up 3-1; delicious ball from Kagawa to Lewandowski and he buried it. Pretty much just Bayern's defense in shambles and Dortmund have taken advantage.
Can Dortmund translate this to Champions League next year? I mean they're going to lose Kagawa but they're adding in Reus so the team makeup should be similar. They obviously had a tough time this year in CL but they should be able to build on that experience.
Dortmund is so fun to watch, was so disappointed when they flamed out of the champions league. Next weeks final should be entertaining with how bad of shape both teams defenses are in
Pretty dirty goal by Ribery. Random thought but I've always been disappointed both of these teams let Ozil get out of Germany. Real only bought him for 16.6 mil euros
Yeah I expect a much better performance next year, but they should be in a tough group again because they'll be in Pot 3 or 4 in the draw since they flamed out this year. Crazy how young they are, and Klopp is as smug as any manager out there besides Mourinho.
Lewandoski is so good. Not the best finisher, but he has to be one of the best ball control forwards in the game. Silky touch for a guy his size. Kagawa is a great player, but I don't think he'll be missed that much. Reus, Gotze, and Perisic can fill his spot with ease. Look out for Perisic next year. Dude is a clinical finisher. The only way Dortmund don't make it out of the group stage is if they have injuries or get in the group of death.
Bullshit. Kagawa is the creative force behind this Dortmund team. He was far and away their best player this year. Reus will be a great fit in the team but he is not going to match what Kagawa did this year. That is the one player I would hate to let go if I were Dortmund.
yeah Reus and Kagawa arent the same type player at all but Dortmund will be fine with Kagawa considering all the young talent they have.
Gotze can be that creative playmaker for them, will he have as good a season as Kagawa did this year obviously remains to be seen.
Here is the deal when you are a German club not named Bayern, you keep the German and sell the foreigner.
People said the exact same thing when Sahin left last year...and Dortmund are better this year, despite missing Gotze and Bender for a lot of the year due to injury. Marco Reus has been the best player in the entire Bundesliga this year. Perisic led the Belgian league in scoring as a midfielder last year and has scored 9 goals for Dortmund this year in limited time. Gotze is regarded as one of the best young players in the world. All 3 can play the CAM role that Kagawa does and all 3 are elite players. Kagawa won't be missed much if at all. Dortmund just made Gotze their highest paid player. They have said that Lewandoski and Hummels are untouchable for any amount of money. If they thought that they didn't have the ability to replace Kagawa, they would be making him a much more substantial contract offer than they have. And he wasn't far and away their best player. Lewandoski won player of the year award and many Dortmund fans would say Hummels is their best player.
Don't think Boyd will ever be able to break into their team. I can see him as a 3rd striker and get some spot sub and cup appearances. I think he'll eventually settle as a player for a mid table BL club. Dortmund also has Marvin Ducksch coming up, he's one of the highest rated young German strikers in the country.
