I was part of a group a few years back that threw an engagement party for one of my good friends. This bitch that I hate with every ounce of my soul for many reasons took the reigns of planning the party. Lots of group texts and emailing between the hosts ensued.

Well everyone wanted to do a bbq so she calls up and gets a few quotes and the one place in town wants $12/person to cater. Well yours truly volunteers his time and I cooked up some butts and made some slaw and Mac and cheese for about 50 people. It was a damn fine meal if I must say but took me an entire night and half the next day. Instead of it costing the group $600 I think I did it all for a little over $100. I enjoyed doing it because I think I'm good at it and I like small compliments.

So on the way to the party my wife shows me the invitation the bitch made and she didn't even list my wife and I as hosts even though we did by far the most work. Before we eat the bitches husband gets up in front of everyone and thanks his wife for all her hard work and mentions every other couple but us. I was steaming pretty good by then but the worst was that the bride and groom gave out all the hosts gifts but didn't know my wife and I were hosts because our names weren't on the invitations. I don't think I've ever cussed someone as much as I did on the way home that night.

Fuck that. When I cook it's at my house and if people don't bring me booze or brownies they don't eat. And one of these motherfuckers are going to do the dishes, too. I guess I do it often enough that everyone knows what to expect by now though.
Doing 18 racks of spares and a bunch of chicken Saturday. Everyone is probably expecting butts, but I want ribs so fuck them.

 

A "Thank you" isn't really asking for much. I would have been pissed, too. I helped cook for Zack Zedalis bday party a few years ago and got a big ass glass boot beer mug from his wife. Made my day bc a thank you from his wife would have been more than enough bc she's awesome. I still have that boot and I use it to collect beer caps.

Every store will have something different on sale. I think it was Winn Dixie that had $.59 cent per lb on chicken quarters.

 

Royal Oak is 9.98/bag at Home Depot. Just bought what was left of their stock.

 

Damn that's a great price. My buddy powerlifts and was at Walmart the other day, got 10 lbs of quarters for $3. They had some fuck up with their order and got twice what they usually keep in stock.

Thought about that after I posted it. Started off because he always buys bulk proteins, then I just left it out there. I was hoping nobody would notice. I awarded you a like because of attention to detail.

 

Maybe I am a snob but I wouldnt buy meat from the Dirty Dixie.

 

Winn Dixie isn't that bad. Some are rough but it's not like Greer's or anything. I've never had an issue with meat from WD.

 

Like I said it could be me- I will stick to Publix and Tillmans. Neither have ever done me wrong.

lol- nope- I used to work with fafa fofo- been in duval most of my life.
