Since it's the summer and there isn't much going on.. What is your favorite soccer video game of all time? Don't just answer FIFA or Football Manager, I want specific years and reasons. For me: 1. Nintendo World Cup - My first soccer video game. Played so much as a kid. 2. International SuperStar Soccer Deluxe (Brasil Edition) - Had all the South American Club Teams 3. FIFA 09 - First year of FIFA Ultimate Team (you had to download it separately but it was the wild west, you could buy players last second without restarting the timer, no money to buy packs just coins, etc.), First year of Pro Clubs. Best Soundtrack. Best FIFA ever. 4. FIFA 06 - I was unstoppable in college in this version. I lost 1 game during the whole year the game was out. Chelsea was deadly. 5. FIFA 10 - You could use your Pro in Manager mode. First full version to have ultimate team. Great days of the TMB Club team. Honorable Mentions: International SuperStar Soccer 64, FIFA 06 Road to the World Cup (First FIFA for Xbox 360), whatever FIFA had the really easy FKs that allowed you to pick where to aim and what part of the ball to hit, you could not miss a free kick with Beckham that year, pretty sure it was 03.
The only way I knew how to score in the first FIFA was to stand in front of the keeper as he attempted a kickoff. Your player would steal the ball, usually chesting it down, and then it was an easy tap in.
There was an iteration of FIFA where the only way I could score was from the kickoff after I'd been scored on. I never won a game and I'm fairly certain I crushed the cartridge into oblivion. Early footy games were shit.
1. International Soccer Superstar 98 2. World Cup Soccer for Gameboy 3. FIFA 13 Honorable Mention: FIFA 94 - I used to block the goalie's kicks to pop the ball up, then I would do a bicycle kick to score. It was so cheap, I used to beat the computer at least 15+ -0 almost every game.
Underrated FIFA version. I loved this game but also played it on a PC because I found a website to download additional leagues, stadiums, kits, etc.
You could also score by shooting from a little beyond the top left of the box and aim for the top right corner (goalie's top left corner) and it would work everytime. Also you could flip everything to the right and it would work just the same.
