Yugoslavia would be the following nations: Serbia Bosnia-Herzegovina Croatia Macedonia Montenegro Slovenia GK: Samir Handanovic, Udinese (Slovenia) RB: Branislav Ivanovic, Chelsea (Serbia) CB: Nemanja Vidic, Manchester United (Serbia) CB: Neven Subotic, Borussia Dortmund (Serbia fuck him) LB: Aleksandar Kolarov, Manchester City (Serbia) MID: Milos Krasic, Juventus (Serbia) MID: Stevan Jovetic, Fiorentina (Montenegro) MID: Luka Modric, Tottenham (Croatia) MID: Dejan Stankovic, Inter (Serbia) ST: Edin Dzeko, Manchester City (Bosnia) ST: Mirko Vucinic, Juventus (Montenegro) I did pretty fast but that is a pretty nice team. With Krasic and Jovetic on the wings and Modric in the middle it would be a nice attack. I couldnt think of a good defensive mid so I just put Stankovic in there. Serbia has a dirty defense.
I would say Asmir Begovic (Bosnia Herzegovina) is a slightly better keeper than Handanovic... but I'm biased... and picking nits. A combined Yugoslavia team would be REALLY good.
Top 5 team for sure that could compete with any team. For me, take out Kolarov and put in Darijo Srna. Kolarov doesn't play a lick of defense so give me the guy better going forward which would be Srna.I'm more familiar with Misimovic and think he's a terrific player so I'm rolling with him. Think I'd go ------Dzeko-----Vucinic --Misimovic--Modric---Krasic ------------Stankovic-------- Srna-----Vidic----Subotic----Ivanovic -------------Handanovic-------------
He chose to play for Germany, but Marko Marin was eligible to play for Bosnia. It'd be nice to have that coming off the bench. EDIT: Ibrahimovic, too.
Not sure how good he is but Dortmund have a Croatian who hit that wonder goal vs us this week. Playing in Dortmund midfield you gotta be pretty good even though he came off the bench.
Definitely. They would've been one of the favorites for the '94 World Cup had they not been banned, and the combo of Yugoslavia/Croatia in '98 would've been a great team.
top10, i think they would at best be the fourth european team though behind germany spain and holland with team chemistry being to much of a questionmark to know if they would be better than england, italy or france
Yugoslavia got kicked out of Euro 1992 because of the Civil War, Denmark took their place and won the tourney. They also have World Cup semifinal apperances in 1930 and 1962 in addition to runnerup finishes in the Euros in 1960 and 1968. They also have a gold medal in the 1960 Olympics. -One proud Slovene and Bosnian.
