Fox Sports signed a deal to have YouTube live-stream the season's first Bundesliga match on Friday, marking the first time Fox Sports will live-stream content to the video site. The pact is described as a one-game-only deal to help build awareness around Fox' agreement to carry the German soccer league for the first time this season. Friday’s Bayern Munich-Hamburg game at 2:30pm ET also will be carried on FS2 and the company’s RSNs. In addition to YouTube, Fox will stream the game on Fox Sports Go, Fox Soccer 2 Go and FoxSports.com.

Watching Hamburg defecate on the pitch every week is going to take years off my life. The club doesn't even have young German talent to hang your hopes on.

Thoughts on the Fox's Buli debut.

    - You are telling me that Fox couldn't get a Deutschland Sky dime piece to host this? Really? I like Joy, even with his weird accent, but more in analysis

    - Wynalda was fine, and I can deal with him because he actually played German football in a period where American soccer players in Europe were black rhinos. Respect the hell out of that.

    - I'm massively disappointed Fox didn't follow NBC's lead and get their own broadcast team, using the Bundesliga magazine and former Gol TV play by play voice that the Bundesliga provides, along with Christian Ziege who provided fuck all analysis while mumbling, is absurd. It is really noticeable when you flip back and forth between NBC and Fox. How hard would it be to get a real PBP announcer and Ballack as the color? I don't know how Fox watched ESPN's coverage and thought Lalas was a must hire while missing out on Ballack.

Phil Weston average to below average poster.

sooo, might be moving to Germany in January to march time frame. I'd love to get into the bundesliga.

I grew up playing soccer and still play so i understand the game...was wondering if you fine gents could give me a quick run down on the league. understand FC bayern's line up is pretty stacked but pretty ignorant on rest of the teams. I am familiar with the some of the big names in the sport (mostly thanks to fifa) but not where they currently play.

I'll be 20 minutes away from mainz and 25 minutes or so away from eintracht frankfurt. are they any good? who should i pledge my allegiance to? want to go to to a fair amount of games. also, i'll be there for 3 years so if one isn't as good now but has a promising future I wouldn't mind getting in on that...

thanks for any help. hope to post in this thread fairly regularly once i move...

The Bundesliga is generally off for all of January for their winter break. Eintracht is a pretty big team fanbase wise, but have consistently underachieved. There's also FSV Frankfurt that plays in the BL2.

Mainz is a smaller team but will surprise every once in awhile. It's also the club Jurgen Klopp played his whole career for and got his managerial start before moving to Dortmund.

For me, it's hard not to root for Dortmund because they play a very fun style and an incredible home stadium experience even on TV. Their stadium is pretty new too.

Darmstadt would be your best bet for the genuine German football experience but will be down after this year. I would 100 percent go to a game there in the Spring for the experience. Frankfurt has the bigger stadium and the city would be fun to hang around in afterwards. I suggest you get membership now, remember the Germany clubs have to be 51 percent owned by the fans unless you are a factory club.

I would choose Frankfurt, they are a founding Bundesliga club and have spent a vast majority of their time in the top flight. Neither will win a trophy while you are there but Mainz and Frankfurt will both be a hell a lot of fun. Might come down to which club you can get a season ticket, I'd email both clubs and see who sets you up the best.

Bayern decided it was a good idea to hire a coach whose constructed team they beat 7-0 on aggregate the previous year and have since become so Latin, ungerman, and progressively worse since the 2013 peak that the media and populace are calling for the head of a league winning demigod

Bayern is playing with 3 defenders, 1 who is used in central midfield a lot and the other who is used more as a winger. This should be fun.
