We stay and eat out there often, thanks to the wife's job. Always comped. Got the Presidential Suite for two nights next weekend, along with food, spa appointments, and golf all taken care of. It's one hell of a perk.
Charleston is so underrated nationally...would live there if the opportunity arose...and I live in Las Vegas to give some context...
My go to's all year have been Leons, Edmunds Oast, and EVO. Finally went to Rutledge Cab Co for their sunday supper of lobster, and its well worth it. Cant wait until Lewis opens his BBQ store up. That stuff is ridiculous at Revelry. Curious how its gonna fit in parking wise with Home Team and Edmunds in the same area.
There's a ton of street parking by revelry I've never done the lobster dinner but Rutledge cab company has always been meh as fuck during regular dinner to me
Lewis BBQ is gonna be a few streets away from Rev. Much closer to EO and HTBBQ. Never been to RCC before sunday, but the lobster dinner was on point.
Right, it's like two and a half blocks. That's pretty much the norm for downtown charleston parking. And that whole area has a ton of empty space you can park
Echoing undrtow, literally the best wings I've ever had and I've eaten more wings than anything else in my life.
I had some yesterday, and they are even better when you mix the red sauce into the white, and when you are done, eat the 1/4 white chicken with the mixed sauce.
I got a dozen for the table, then stuffed myself with a quarter chicken and brisket. I was miserable afterward, but well worth it
Darius playing a pop-up concert at the jammer tonight... Wristband giveaway starts at 9 am at cistern yard
Arkadin we need to compile a list of most recommended places (for each category) and put that page in the title
Heading over to the new Tattooed Moose after the Clemson game today. Just found out recently the wife is pregnant with our first, so that means a DD during football season.
Its a lot bigger and it has a nice and big outside area. The windows roll up like garage doors to the bar so there's a bar inside and out. Really nice place
I've heard that downtown is a mess. Starting Saturday morning they wouldn't let any cars on the peninsula downtown so im not sure how bad. In Mt. Pleasant it doesn't seem to be that bad. Just looks like we have had a lot of rain but no flooding.
Its not too bad where I am DT, but I just got back in town this morning. My street is one of the ones that floods normally after a hard afternoon shower so I expected it to be bad but was pleasantly suprised. It definitely flooded here but was still 4-5 feet from getting into our house. Could've been much much worse.
Finally made it to smokes brick and mortar location yesterday. Fucking fantastic Anyone going to the ducks unlimited oyster roast or the Halloween party at the old jail? The flooding fucked up oysters for a while and it makes me sad
Posted this in the bachelor party thread as well, but thought it made sense here as well: So since we are talking about bachelor parties, I too am the best man in a wedding and I am in the process of getting the bachelor party together. Have already identified Charleston, SC as the destination and he wants to go fishing. Any ideas on what else to do, where to stay? I want to make sure the weekend is memorable for sure.
So if it were me, I'd stay on Sullivan's island.... https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/8192730?checkin=03/18/2016&checkout=03/20/2016&guests=8&s=mldY6aB0 But being out of town I also get the appeal of staying right downtown, and i'd do something like these: http://www.vrbo.com/3983290ha http://www.vrbo.com/750376 I believe the Coast Guard regulates the charter groups to a 6 person max... so you might be kind of screwed there. If 6 of you want to do it you're looking at like 2100ish for a full day off shore (usually have to be at the dock at 5 in the morning). Inshore is cheaper and doesn't have to be as long. For things to do, I'd hit up some breweries (Coast, Holy City, Westbrook, Revelry). St. Pats downtown is always a lot of fun if y'all are around that weekend. I'd go to Sullivans and drink at Poes/Hometeam. Shemcreek and drink at Waters Edge, Red's, Shelter. Walking around downtown and checking out all the history is always something people from out of town like. There are top notch bars and restaurants every 20 feet so you can do it at your own pace. March is still oyster season so Patriots Point will have a big party on Fridays with bands, oysters, booze, and great scenery. Do yall want to do a nice dinner one night or more of low key type stuff? I'll provide more bar and restaurant recs.
I would do FIG (James beard best restaurant southeast 2015), husk (also a beard winner, amazing and one of the hottest reservations around) , or halls (TripAdvisor #5 restaurant in the US) Plenty of other places too, but those three are plenty
looks like I'll be back for Thanksgiving and NYE this year - very excite I started following Home Team on instagram and they will be getting a few visits from me. Not a good idea to look at their posts around lunch

Finally. Might take my wife there for our anniversary in a few weeks. It was one of our first date spots.
