Dave's a great player, not sure he's a great leader though.

I completely agree. I think the core to rebuild has to be Dave, Kante, Christiansen, RLC. I have always stanned for Willian despite his inconsistency because of the effort he gave when no one else gave a fuck two years ago, but I don't think he's an absolute must-keep. Bakayoko and Morata can go in the same basket of guys in poor form who I wouldn't care much if they stayed or went and could make an argument for both either way.

Abramovich either needs to splash cash this summer or cut bait with Hazard and think long term. I somehow doubt either will happen.

Willian is 29, Pedro is 30, Fabregas is 30, Luiz is about to be 31. Take whatever you can get for those 4 at a minimum.

In terms of Hazard this could be the last time you could get mega money for him as he's already turned 27 this year. Not sure I could ever really advocate selling him unless the club goes to a full rebuild but Roman isn't exactly the patient type and going without Champions League for 2-3 years seems suicidal.

Man, as much as I loved Fabregas in his first year or two at Chelsea, I'd kill for someone more creative in his position. I'd settle for someone who I remembered was on the pitch other than the times they were doing something stupid.

The Fabregas to Costa connection was great at times but that's obviously done. Dave is the only one who really linked up with Morata but that's kinda gone away as Morata started playing like shit.

Definitely still not bitter about a possible Hazard-De Bruyne-Salah midfield.

While we're on the subject of a youth movement, the youth squad is in the cup final with a 22-0 goal differential.

agree with going into rebuild mode with the youth and young core players. Honestly seems like the only way we can get consistency and get away from this every other year mode we are in now due to the patchwork roster management and managerial changes. It's time to implement a long term plan and develop our youth for a consistent run in the future.

Problem is that goes against everything we've been doing and I have a hard time seeing us do it.

Don't worry, he'll reach his potential. First we'll sell him to somewhere in Italy or France for pennies, then he'll regain form and some other Premier League club will buy him and he'll become a top player with them. I think it's Arsenal's turn next.

I will be positive for a second and say that the link up play between morata and hazard has looked good and morata’s body language and movement is more positive. It was offside but it was nice to see him finish it. Who knows what happens this summer with player buys/sells, new manager and how we can look with Europa league being offered and the massive revenue loss that comes with missing champions league but morata will most likely be here and he will be important.

Hypothetically if hazard does leave, who would you want to replace him and who would you want to add in central midfield to start next to kante?

Only difference is we keep buying worse and worse so that title winning season will be a 2nd or 3rd with maybe an FA Cup as our “top” season in the cycle. Either need to spend real money or bring in a youth movement. Can’t do neither like we have been.
