I think white is going to end up being a bust. His biggest knock were his hands coming out, that's the death sentence for a wideout. Unless he's freakishly athletic like TO I expect we'll be looking for his replacement in a few years.
His NFL Combine scouting profile on NFL.com says Strengths Has desired NFL frame for the position. Goes and gets the ball with consistency. Had issues with drops in 2013 after transferring in from JUCO, but caught everything in sight in 2014
Him sitting out all year can't be a positive either, missing training camp and all that has to put him behind. I hope I'm wrong but i just get that bust feeling with him...maybe it's Davis Terrell flashbacks.
Am I nuts to think if we keep this coaching staff around for 2-3 seasons that we could be a good playoff team?
losing Gase is going to crush us imho... i hope they make some sort of deal where he takes over for Fox when he retires.
Pretty sure we have a ton of money to spend this offseason plus get Kevin White back next year. It's looking like 8-8 at worst this year. Stay healthy and ball bounce our way, could be sixth playoff team at 9-7.
I think with a good off season, the Bears will be a playoff contender next year. But to be a super bowl contending type team, they need 2 more really good drafts at least
Two or three. Gase is gone. He's going to be a HC somewhere and imho a good one. Team still lacks talent especially on defense. Nice thing is early returns on this GM are very positive.
Need to draft defenders and keep the offense in tact and this team can challenge for the playoffs until the O needs rebuilt.
Chicago Bears @ChicagoBears · 3m3 minutes ago #Bears have placed TE Martellus Bennett on season-ending injured reserve with a rib injury & signed TE Rob Housler. I think that'll about do it for Bennett as a Bear
Gotta be someone on the line Probably defensive, because I think it will be easier to fill OL needs through free agency. Maybe Ashawn Robinson from Alabama
Hopefully the Lions can get us our 10th loss next week. If we lose I think we can get no lower than 12
I would agree with this, for my own personal greed I really hope that Jaylon Smith from ND is there at our pick.
More pissed about Jeffery being a little bitch than I should be, really wanted him to stay for 8+ years and rewrite the Bears record books. I don't even wish him the best at this point, I hope he falls flat on his face.
If they can somehow put in a behavior clause in the contract to cover their asses, I want the Bears to break the bank for Von Miller in free agency.
He was able to make Cutler a respectable QB. His game plans are solid. Our run game was good this season but we had some really good talent at that spot. The pass game was hit and miss. Worked with a ton of meh talent because our #1 picked missed the season. Alshon missed big chunks also. Bennett basically pouted all season. With that said I think the Dolphins are a nice fit. He will run some read option and you have two talented wide outs he will use. No one really knows how he translates to head man. But most players love him where he's been. I actually wanted him to be the head coach for Chicago last year offseason but we went Fox. I think that is a mistake in the long run but really can't complain with Fox all things considered thus far.
Pace has said they're not going to put all their eggs in one basket... so I doubt we go after the #1 free agent
Von Miller is a yawner to me- not interested in paying that much for him Bears need to continue to improve their Oline, LB's, and corners
I wouldn't be against trading down in the 1st round. Need to add so much more talent on this roster. Needs: OLB ILB CB S WR x 2 OL x 2 TE QB (eventually you need to take someone to replace Cutler right?)
I think you guys have a crap load of 6th round picks right? While ther is a high volume of spots to fill, you also need an elite player or two. Maybe stay there if there is a franchise player and use the extra picks yo deal around and get depth.
I actually feel good about our GM being able to make moves like this... couldn't say that about previous GMs
