UK's class now involves three players who were virtual locks (and, in the case of SKJ, was actually committed) at other schools and, at the last second, reversed field and committed to UK. My only question is: What kind of stupid money is being thrown? I really wish we had a real expose into this, but we never will. "Sole Man" 30 for 30 and "Meet the Bag Man" SBNation article are about as close as we'll get. Would love to know how this actually goes down.
Yeah, to be fair, I haven't followed his recruitment much, just got the sense from the Arky faithful that they were very confident. And I'm not casting blame here because I think a ton of program do it, and Cal has been very successful playing the system. I'm just genuinely fascinated to see how it all actually works.
Wait so the reason Arkansas thought they were gonna get Monk way early on ended up being the reason they didn't get him? Weird.
Hah, one of our guys said something along the lines of "Mom and family are on record as loving IU, but we'll see if other influences win out late" when the tide started turning last night. Wouldn't elaborate. Personally I think the kid just had the time of his life on his OV, seeing as it was on Halloween in South Beach. Half naked women and partying would be an "other influence" on 18 year old me for sure.
We heard he was set on Indiana. But those around him had other objectives. Suntan U would be a great place to visit on an OV. And it's not like Miami is a bad choice, just funny how influences influence. Nature of the beast.
It's probably a combo of that, a rising program, and a backcourt that will have playing time next year
What? Please explain to me what was "downy smug" about anything I said. A question from an outsider to that recruitment and a reasonable post that a Miami fan apparently somewhat agrees with. But please, continue.
bertwing @BPortistime 1h1 hour ago I didn't need Kentucky to make it to the NBA but thats none of my business
Supposedly is wanting to do a big family get together, but why can't you have had that arranged in 3 months? He is still saying all the right things, and he is still constantly pro-Bama in all his social media stuff, but something doesn't add up to me.
So uh Kobi Simmons is announcing and apparently it is looking like Arizona. Pretty much would be a complete shock to Arizona fans. But a class of Markkanen, Simmons, and Josh Jackson sure would be nice.
unc is a mortal lock to get rechon black tomorrow. dude who is shooting up the rankings and is the #1 nc prospect for 2018. drawing some shaun livingston comps and he may not be done growing at 6'6" excited
Well, he's the #1 PG anyway. The #1 prospect in NC for 2018 is Jairus Hamilton, and he might be the #1 player in the class. Black is definitely going to be a very good player, but Hamilton is the motherfucker UNC hasn't had on the wing since Barnes....maybe Carter. UNC staff isn't even really bothering to recruit DJ Harvey out of Dematha in 2017, they are so high on Hamilton. Plan seems to be to try and land Alkins and then Hamilton as wings. Berry/Woods/Robinson/Williams/Felton/Black plus another shooter or PG for the backcourt over the next 3 cycles.
Alkins is a probable two year guy. If Berry blows up as a junior, Roy will look for a late signee at PG to bridge to Black Berry > Black Woods > Felton Alkins > Hamilton Staff doesn't want to risk Hamilton by going in on Harvey....at least that's the thinking right now.
after the 2012 debacle when we had to start stillman fucking white in an elite 8 game, roy isn't fucking around with pout guard recruitment.
fuck larry drew so much he was playing the best ball of his career and he bitched out. if he stays or dex doesn't shred his acl, that season ends a helluva lot differently
Azubuike's supposedly deciding this weekend too, I'm assuming KU or FSU, hopefully my jinx works though
wow that would be neat but idk if your jinx is that powerful yet shig gonna need more time to develop
