I'll have to check that show out. I got into Community because a few posters on here were talking about and I actually started with the Modern Warfare episode.
Oops, you're right on the overall new comedy show, however. Modern Family is gold - very much like Arrested Development was before cancellation.
Great episode, but I liked the Schmitty episode the best. The one where the high school kids were at the college and battled with the group.
I could see where someone might think it was annoying, I thought it was great though. The Christmas/Fall Semester Finals episode was a great one too.
My top 5 comedies on tv right now. 1. Community 2. Always Sunny 3. Curb 4. Parks and Rec. 5. Modern Family
I'd probably go 1. How I Met Your Mother 2. Always Sunny 3. Community All must sees for me every week.
1. Parks & Rec 2. It's Always Sunny 3. Modern Family 4. 30 Rock 5. Psych (technically a drama, but it could go either way)
to me, Curb and Always Sunny really can't be put in the same genre, since they get away with A LOT more. To me, the top 5 network shows are in no order Parks and Rec 30 Rock (doesn't get the due respect) Modern Family (probably 1 to me but I have to see more seasons) Community and I would put The Office here but it hasn't been funny at all. So I would say How I Met Your Mother since it has been funny to me. Cable comedies in no order: The League Louie Curb Always Sunny Psych (one of the more underrated shows on TV)
I think he's great. When he's wearing the noise-canceling headphones is hilarious, as is him running through the screen door.
totally disagree Luke is good slapstick when its needed and is a good comedic pairing with Phil since both are idiots
I could see it (he doesn't add much), but he's a welcome contrast to the other two kids (three if you count Manny).
Agree 100% with your cable comedies. But 30 Rock not getting respect? Hasn't it won Best Comedy like the last 3 years at the Emmy's? And, I used to like How I Met Your Mother a lot, but it's been going downhill pretty steadily the past few years. Oh, and Luke sucks...adds nothing of value to the show.
30 Rock was off last year. Either it was the show not living up to expectations, or the late start and on-again/off-again schedule made it feel rushed. More Dennis Duffy please!
Emmys don't mean shit Arrested Development won Emmys It is still low as hell in terms of viewer respect. and it also was a victim of shit timing with the Olympics and how NBC does the month long breaks
Are you trying to say Arrested Development isn't ARGUABLY ONE OF the best comedy tv shows of all time?
thought that all season, but I figured it was just me. I hope it doesn't go The Office route and become practically unwatchable...would almost rather it finish after Season 5 in order for that to not happen. a spin-off with Dr. Spaceman or his character being on other shows would be appreciated tho. back to OP, Community is great. I liked it more than Modern Family for some reason (maybe because Donald Glover is always gold) and I think the writers did a great job minus the episode with the high school students. really excited to see what they do with the love quadrangle.
in this case thats not a bad thing no I'm saying that emmys =/= ratings, since both AD and 30 Rock had/have meh ratings
30 rock avg 7.5 mill before dropping down to 5.9 this last season but considering how much the quality of it fell it seems right. i think thats much higher than AD. it def has a higher profile
true I didn't even know what AD was about and 30 Rock has gone downhill but its meh season >>>>>>>>> most of the comedies on TV imo. Also its moved timeslots on NBC a decent amount, it used to be on at 8:30 before The Office iirc
Modern Warfare is one of the best episodes of any comedy ever made. The more I think about the past season of both shows, the more I think Community was on a higher plane than Modern Family.
