Penalty stopping the clock is a dumb rule, but it's even dumber to commit a penalty in that situation.
Lol like we are going to draft anything worth a shit anyway. Draft position means very little until Dimitroff is gone.
Great game by you guys. Of course it had to be Beasley to make the big end of game play, that rubs salt in the wound. We played shitty football and lost.
2nd time in 3 seasons where we've done this. completely out of the playoffs under any reasonable scenario and win a late season game that drops us by several key spots in draft order. 2 years ago they were already mathematically eliminated and did the same thing like morons.
My theory is that the only thing TD CAN'T screw up is a top pick. If we aren't top 10, odds are he completely whiffs... so it was extra important to lose and they couldn't even get that right.
I'm more than alright with screwing up Carolina's attempt at a perfect season; even if it means dropping in the draft order.
I think if Seattle loses out and we win out. So not counting on it. edit: Seattle has already clinched a playoff berth so maybe it is the Vikings.
They can, I do not understand trying to lose if you aren't mathematically eliminated yet. I also think trying to lose games does nothing to help players' confidences that will desperately be needed next season.
TD actually needs to trade multiple draft picks to not fuck it up, although I do think that Matthews and Beasley are gonna be very good to great.
The things that needed to happen were Seattle and Minn lose out, TB beat the Bears, and 49ers win one of two last games. It went out the window when TB lost today...
Seattle already punched their ticket I thought? Regardless, they still have/had a chance, albeit small, entering the game so to me it seems monumentally stupid to throw it. edit: Everything I'm reading says that the Falcons get in if both Seattle and Minnesota lose out.
I know everyone is already looking ahead to next season but we did just upset a 14-0 team that happens to be our division rival. Stop complaining about draft position and let's savor the victory for at least a few days.
They have, but if Atlanta/Seattle/Minn all finish with the same record and under three ways ties where all three teams haven't played each other, head to head isn't used as a tie breaker. It was going to filter down to SoS. In all scenarios in a three way tie, Seattle had the advantage over Atlanta and Minn. But we would of had a better SoS if TB(on our schedule) beats the Bears(on Minn's schedule) and the 49ers won 1 more. TB losing to the Bears gives Minn the SoS victory...
Put me on team fuck that draft picks, yay for making the panthers lose a game. I fucking hate the panthers.
Lets talk draft since our season is essentially over. What position do we want with the first pick? Middle first round I'd like to replace worrlow. Myles jack or maybe Reggie ragland would be nice, although Ragland might be better suited for a 3-4
I agree. I want to get faster at LB and love both those options. Our LB coach has a lot of familiarity with Jack.
Preview of analysis on our 1st round pick this year... "Bit of a reach at this pick. _____ shows great potential but is a bit raw and unpolished. Didn't have great production last year but may turn into a solid starter one day." We will then somehow find a way to draft another RB and a kicker. We'll probably grab a LB and OL in like the 4th round and consider all our issues solved.
@ESPN_NFLNation 5h5 hours ago No decisions, but owner says Dan Quinn-Thomas Dimitroff tandem reflects well http://es.pn/1ODDbYU
showing that we will have the 17th pick in the draft. we focus on defense early and often this draft? off the top of my head seems like a pretty deep defensive class all around. though another receiving threat to go with Julio wouldn't be bad either (could solve that through FA though).
