Can't wait until we reach for a guard from Purdue in round 3, and take a backer from Kansas in round 4 that has an UDFA grade, and I talk myself into believing they are sleepers
Somebody posted the numbers a while back about how few of the Falcons players from recent drafts are even still on the team or in the league. Using that as the metric, I wonder if any team in the league has had a worse string of drafting than TD has during his reign?
welp we will all be going into the 16 season trying to convince ourselves once again our OL isn't a complete shit show and we will have a competent pass rush what does the FA class look like this year?
Here are the Atlanta Falcons home and away opponents for the 2016 season: Home: Carolina Panthers Tampa Bay Buccaneers New Orleans Saints San Francisco 49ers Arizona Cardinals Kansas City Chiefs San Diego Chargers Green Bay Packers Away: Carolina Panthers Tampa Bay Buccaneers New Orleans Saints St. Louis Rams Seattle Seahawks Denver Broncos Oakland Raiders Philadelphia Eagles
I saw a mock draft from last week by SBNation(I know) that had us taking Laquan Treadwell with 1st round pick. Thoughts?
hes got both good hands and possession type skills but also some wheels to be a deep threat wouldnt hate it, but it seems the real benefit is freeing up julio more who already gets 8-10 receptions a game with our shit WR corps.
Are we releasing Roddy? If so, I like the Treadwell pick. We need so much help, though. I really don't know what to think. We need another OT. We need interior OL. We need a MLB, S, DE, etc. Fuck us.
I would much rather draft defense but Treadwell is about the only thing our FO couldn't screw up. I don't think he will make it to us tho. Just looked at our season scores, man the offense was terrible after week 4. Didn't score 25 or more from week 5 on.
wouldn't hate that pick, obviously we have needs everywhere but if Roddy leaves our WR corp outside of Julio is abysmal and I think he's one player we wouldn't fuck up
Yea, I think it's sad when we are all really focused on picks that aren't really our biggest need, but the ones that aren't a reach/can be fucked up.
Those 2011 and 2012 drafts were just killer. I think only Julio and Bosher are left. He really needed to hit on some picks after trading so many away and just ended up with nothing. I went back and looked at the 2012 draft and there where 13 OLs picked in the 2nd/3rd rounds that year. Jonathan Martin and TD's two picks Konz and Holmes are the only three no longer in the NFL. I don't remember any injuries much with those two guys, they just weren't good at football. It was tough seeing names like Lavonte David and Ben Jones right around those picks.
from cbs 17. Atlanta Falcons: Robert Nkemdiche, DL, Ole Miss Based on talent alone, Nkemdiche belongs in the top 10, maybe even the top three. But his off-field issues could cause him to tumble, which would be the Falcons' gain.
Atlanta Falcons veteran wide receiver Roddy White said he won't sacrifice his salary in order to remain with the team. "I'm not interested in taking a pay cut," White told ESPN on Monday afternoon. White, who is signed through 2017, is due $4.25 million next season and would count $6,043,750 against the salary cap. The Falcons could reduce the $4.25 million in cash due ($2.75 million base salary and $1.5 million roster bonus) and give him a chance to make it up in incentives. White echoed the same stance he took during an interview with Steak Shapiro and former Falcons wide receiver Brian Finneran on 680 the Fan radio Monday. White, 34, saw his role reduced under new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. He finished 2015 fourth on the team with 43 receptions for 506 yards and one touchdown. Last week, White said he wanted to be a Falcon "forever" and finish out his contract in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is set to open in 2017. Falcons coach Dan Quinn praised White for the leadership he showed at the end of the season, and teammates Matt Ryan and Julio Jones spoke up on White's behalf. "He's the best [and] has been for a long time, since I've been here," Ryan said last week. "Second to none. He's as great a competitor as I've ever been around and as good a player as there is, but even better in the locker room; just a great teammate, good friend. And I'm hoping that it keeps going a long time." White, a 2005 first-round draft pick out of UAB, has 808 career receptions for 10,863 yards and 63 touchdowns. He is the franchise's all-time leading receiver.
They need to take the best player available. There isn't a position group on the whole team that doesn't need upgrades.
I'm on board with this with the exception of skill players. A first round WR or RB is like rims on flat tires right now
I want to go on record and say that I'd be happy with the Falcons drafting Robinson, Allen, Reed, or Ragland. #nohomer
Our defense improved a lot this year. Our offense got worse. Our WRs/TEs are terrible outside of JJ, we have to improve these positions somehow. With how loaded the league is at WR you would think we could find a serviceable WR2 fairly easy
I will agree with you at running back but I believe they need another playmaker on the outside or at tight end. After Jones and Freeman it's pretty thin.
Just looking over UFAs now and Dwayne Allen would be a great addition at TE (provided he can stay healthy). We could also sign someone like Marvin Jones or Sanu to a manageable deal. Just some thoughts
Let's homer it up. Obviously I'd love Jalen Ramsey at S but he'll be long gone by our pick in the 1st. No one who I would take 2-4, but rounds 5-7 some combo of Roberto Aguayo, Kareem Are, and Nile Lawrence-Stample would be nice. Aguayo might go earlier though. One of the best college kickers in a long time.. Oh and Bjoern Werner is absolutely getting misused in Indy and could probably be had for a middle round pick.
wouldnt mind trading up in the 2nd to get shon coleman, he should be a low 1 high 2 OT. would be a good book end with matthews
Top players for the '17 NFL draft? Just wanna get a jump start on potential draft choices for our top 10 pick. TIA
On this page I've seen someone suggest we trade up for Shon Coleman, trade for Bjoern Warner and TD being kept. This is the worst page on the entire internet
It's hard to support this team as long as Dimitroff remains calling the shots the guy is such an incompetent douche...
He might cost a first round pick after the ncg performance and he will dominate the combine. Not sure I want to spend a first rounder on a tight end
