hopefully I don't fuck up and plan my vacation the same date as the Philly game like I did with the Gold Cup.
Orlando is a huge draw for South American countries. It's a great spot for non US, Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil games.
Signed up for ticket news, I imagine if the US gets paired with one of the major countries tickets will be expensive
The USA, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina will be the seeded teams at this summer's Copa America Centenario, CONCACAF announced on Thursday. The USA earned the distinction as tournament host, while Argentina earns it as the highest-ranked nation in the FIFA ranking, based on December's rankings. Brazil and Mexico earn it as "the most decorated nations in the last 100 years in international competitions from their respective confederations." The group schedules are set for the four teams, who will be joined by 12 others in a draw to be held in "early 2016," according to CONCACAF's release. USA: June 3, Levi's Stadium (Santa Clara, California); June 7, Soldier Field (Chicago); June 11, Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia) Brazil: June 4, Rose Bowl (Pasadena, California); June 8, Citrus Bowl (Orlando); June 12, Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Massachusetts) Mexico: June 5, University of Phoenix Stadium (Glendale, Arizona); June 9, Rose Bowl; June 13, NRG Stadium (Houston) Argentina: June 6, Levi's Stadium; June 10, Soldier Field; June 14, Century Link Field (Seattle)
Of course none of Mexico's matches are in the North or Midwest. They might as well be co-hosts with the cities they're playing in.
If it doesn't piss someone off at least a little bit that Mexico would have more than half the crowd on their side if they played the USMNT in any of those three cities, then they are not real Americans.
But they won't be playing America in any of the group games, so it doesn't bother me. I kind of assumed Mexico would play in the southwest and Brazil would play at least one game in Orlando. Looks like the organizers went with that as well.
Anybody see a complete schedule yet? Planning on going to NYC if there are decent games early on at MetLife. Can only imagine tickets for the final will be ridiculous.
Think Sun Life is supposed to be getting renovated at the time. Its been ruled out for a while I thought
Ah good point. They are adding the roof this summer. Shitty because the Robbie family built the stadium in hopes of luring a WC and this is pretty much next best thing.
Secondary market already has upper end zone for like $600 a pop on SeatGeek. Friend of mine has season tix to RBNY, and he says MLS season ticket holders are supposed to get first crack.
When is full schedule coming out? Want to buy tickets to something but that Brazil match will be super expensive and sell out real quick.
I have to imagine it will come down - especially if one of the teams that makes the big game doesn't have as big a following as most.
Atlanta United Founders Club members received a presale code for passes to the same venue. The Rose Bowl is getting Mexico and Brazil. Brazil would be fun to see in person, but no way in hell I am going anywhere near the Mexico game. Need more info on resale possibilities. Also really wish they had the draw done so we could know who is playing who at each venue.
I locked up Chicago today. Messi, USMNT and a semifinal (no way I go if Mexico is there) and another bs game. It's exciting
As a Columbus Crew season ticket holder I was sent a presale code that is good now for up to 8 tickets at each venue of anyone is interested. Don't think I'll be using it
Just as a heads up this shit goes on sale tomorrow at noon for anyone who signed up online so you best be hustling
I had to borrow some 2016 sick/vacation time for 2015 with some health issues so don't really have time to use to travel for it and closest matches are Chicago or Philly which are both like 8 hours away so not planning to myself but appreciate the heads up For anyone that wants it my code is (all caps) BDZKNMIZPZ http://click.info.mlssoccer.com/?qs=d2dc092e5d03fc19eee05d08c362049207fe1be8c00c0937438b9c2721732aa0
SugarShaun if you're ballsy you can do what I'm doing and sell a few tickets. the US/mexico/semifinal games (so CHI and HOU) should be great tickets
How much did you pay for the Chicago tickets? Did it come with 3 group stage games and 1 Semi? Thinking of getting 2 Rose Bowl tix since Brazil is on a Saturday and I know I could easily sell the Mexico tickets. Only worry I have is how much I could get for selling the other game which is the other game from the USA game.
I've got my Atl founders club code, but the RB one was really slow and finally working. Are you going to buy any other packages to sell?
He says he plans on re-selling them if it's two teams that make it that we dont follow or if it's a big time matchup that he can turn a profit on. Don't matter to me either way cause I ain't paid him yet. The 3 tix are for him, his dad, and me.
Just got my AO email with individual ticket sales for Philly, Chicago and Santa Clara. Can purchase up to 4 tickets each
AO code is good starting tomorrow 2PM ET AO Sections (NOT GENERAL ADMISSION): Levi's Stadium (Santa Clara, CA): 146, 101-103 and 201-203 Solider Field (Chicago, IL): 120-123 and 220-223 Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia, PA): 128-130
Just bought the two game pass for MetLife. Hoping the US can get there act together so I can see them play Brazil in the quarters.
me and a friend are debating buying the full 8 for the match in Philly even though we will probably only use 4-6. can't decide if we think there will be a chance to make some money on the secondary market.
