After watching the clip, it doesn't seem like he is doing anything more than selling something. I don't think it's "his" streaming device. He will probably have to stop selling http://www.kinobox.tv/
http://money.cnn.com/2016/03/01/media/att-cable-tv-internet/index.html DirectTV Now - ATT over the top service coming. Will be like Sling TV but bigger.
Reading that gives the impression it will still be the bloated list of channels you have to pay for with a dish, without a dish. They didn't have details at this time so I could be wrong but that was the impression I got
I don't care what it is, as long as this means more services will be coming online. Won't be long until good ones pop up.
For those interested there is pretty good podcast episode (#691) on Planet Money that shows both sides of cutting the cable. I found it pretty interesting hearing how the market is evolving and the pros and cons associated with both sides. http://www.npr.org/sections/money/ (the last 10 minutes is filler bs, the content is in the first 17-18 minutes.)
Any thoughts on how to get my regional fox sports station sans cable? Sling tv doesn't seem to have it as an option.
Yeah, and there are a few plugins that you can get that should allow you to get what you're looking for
Bump for PlayStation Vue. Just picked this up and it's much better than Sling, imo. Better channel selection and I get my regional fox sports channel plus btn, both espns, more kids channels, etc. Plus it has a dvr and some on demand programming. It's more expensive than Sling at $30-$40 per month depending on package (mine is $35) but worth it as I can now watch everything I did with cable for about 2/3 the total cost including internet and netflix.
I just called and actually went through cancelling my directv We have Prime and use my brother's Netflix. Going to look into ordering an HD antenna on Amazon and see how that goes.
HD antenna didn't work for me unfortunately, in a valley and all the towers were out of range. Probably would have worked if I wanted to spend a bunch more on an antenna.
I'm ready to cut the cord the only thing holding me back right now is playoff hockey... Going to look into options for that and cut soon - we just don't watch nearly enough to justify the amount we spend each month
Yeah that works for my phone, was wondering how to get it on the TV. Went ahead and cancelled D-TV, will figure it out as I go. Oh yeah - I have logins for everything so no issue there for me.
all over, no window worked really, was one of those flat ones that they say can stick on the wall anywhere
I've got mine in the attic but if you have earth blocking your line of sight to a signal that might be a non-starter
I've had PlayStation Vue for about a month now. I had a major issue with my main PSN account and Vue could never figure out the geological positioning corrrctly. Had to abandon it and make a new psn accout, which kinda pissed me off as I have plus for it and 50 dollars in my wallet still. Vue support line was basically, "uh try to sign up again and if it don't work again than idk bro" God help you if you need CS. On the otherhand, service has been great since I switched. Works fine on my PS4 in the living room and my Amazon FireTV. Have not tried it on my old PS3 and I would advise against using it on a fire stick.
Sling now has the option to replace ESPN and Disney with Fox, FS1, Fox Sports Regional, and FX. Still cost $20, but you can have up to three 3 streams at a time instead of 1. I already have a family members login for ESPN so this was a no-brainer for me.
roku, think amazon has nbcsn, etc. you have someone's log in info and you get all the games. the nbcsn app crashes/buffers (buffers is probably the more accurate description), but overall it's very good.
yeah i have a fire stick in a couple bedrooms, figured out that was the best way- sucks that xbox doesn't have the nbc sports app.
Went from no cable to basic cable only because I got it for an extra $7/month and my internet went from 50-60 Mbps to this.
NEW YORK (AP) — Amazon is taking on Netflix and Hulu with a stand-alone video streaming service. Customers can now pay $8.99 a month to watch Amazon’s Prime video streaming service. Previously, the only way to watch Prime videos was to pay $99 a year for Prime membership, which includes free two-day shipping on items sold by the site. The video-only option won’t come with any free shipping perks. At $8.99 a month, Amazon’s stand-alone streaming service is $1 less than Netflix, and $1 more than Hulu. Amazon is also offering a new pay-as-you-go option for its full Prime membership that costs $10.99 a month. Amazon.com Inc. shares slipped 0.1 percent before the stock market opened Monday. Netflix Inc. shares fell 1.3 percent.
Will probably be doing Sling with the sports package once we close on the house as well as buying an HD antenna for the basic stations. Not a big deal for us but I understood it that you can only watch one TV in the house at one time. Is that correct?
Added sling for NBA playoffs last week. They have regional Fox Sports options now. They had a $20/mo X 3 mo and a get a free Roku deal, which worked perfectly for playoffs. Will cancel over summer, but worked perfect for me
also having been cord cutting and cable/satellite free for the past 5 years, it's so fucking weird having Tv again, I really don't like it. Like I'm used to just watching only when we/kids want it on demand, not this veg out and flip channels mentality. So weird having live options again.
Well, I actually have two issues - the other will be convincing my wife to use the PS3 controller as a TV remote.
Still dealing with Comcast's 300 GB "cap" for my internet and it's pissing me off. Those mofo's have really found a way to stick it to cord cutters.
Can you not get them to promo you the $35/month to take the cap off? It's included in my package for two years and after that I'll probably call retention and get them to extend it or I'll leave.
Just installed the Exodus add-in on Kodi. I like it so far. Anyone have experience with Real Debrid? Worth it?
I can't imagine the PS3 handling it well. I used mine to just get my account going, and it was dreadful. Get a FireTV or two when Amazon has a sale. You won't regret it.
For the standard packages including the ESPN channels that is correct. But the one I just ordered is basically replacing the ESPN stations with some Fox stations, and you get up to 3 streams at a time for that one. So if you can manage to get an ESPN login from someone else you could have a pretty decent setup for football season with multiple streams available.
Big fan of PS Vue. Only issue so far is its not offered anywhere near me so for whatever reason they just plugged in a Minnesota zip for me. So I have fox sports north instead of fox sports nw. They have a few kinks to wrinkle out but 70 or so channels for like $35/mo with no contract is pretty Also have Prime because I order tons of shit and my buddy's Netflix login, so the lack of movie channels ain't shit (and actually better for me, cunty film watcher and everything)
