Rovell has been getting destroyed over the weekend for his tweets on the first Chilean miner wearing Oakleys as well as essentially saying that people choose to work in sweat shops. It has been glorious. This tweet, in particular, was phenomenal: *Darren Rovell sees a man with a rifle firing from the grassy knoll on 11/22/1963* "JFK leaves $225,000 in salary on the table after today."
I looked at this timeline and can't figured out what prompted people to call him out about it. Rovell said they were looking at numbers and had bidders. dana said the ufc is not for sale but if someone comes with 4bill they will talk. Basically no new info.
The truth is somewhere in between Dana and Darren on this one, from what I hear. The UFC is looking to sell a piece of the UFC, similar to when they sold a 10% stake to a UAE firm a few years back. Pretty sure it would be a much bigger piece this time around, and it would be to a Chinese company. They want to sell to someone who can get them into China.
I feel like Darren Rovell has never been invited to a party. That's not to say he hasn't been to one because I'm sure he kept his ear to the ground in high school and showed up uninvited from time to time. Then in college, I'm guessing he popped up at a few dorm mixers. Probably had a penis or two drawn on his face that he was ecstatic about the next day. Kind of like that scene in Jarhead where they brand the guy getting discharged and he's crying tears of joy.
Heard something on Max and Marcellus ( on my end) the other day when they interviewed Rovell. Max claimed that Vince didn't go for it at the end of the day because he couldn't control the storylines/events.
