Did Great Divide Tap House and First Draft last night. First Draft was pretty fucking cool. Currently posting from Hops and Pies. Got a feta, beer braised brisket, bacon and pulled pork pizza. Fucking delicious and the beer choices are great too. The samples are supposed to be $2 a piece but my waitress keeps bringing me them for free. Really enjoying Denver so far. I'll be here until Saturday.
Go to Mockery Brewery. Best beer in town imo. Walking distance from the Source. Skip Great Divide. They have free NFL Blitz, NBA Jam, and Buckhunter. Need I say more?
Just came across Mockery online today. Hadn't heard of it before but looks really promising. Think I'll have to make a trip over there soon, especially with the news of those free games.
Already went to Great Divide as it was walking distance from First Draft but yeah it's skippable. I stopped at Small Batch Liquors on the way back from Hops and Pies and the guy recommended Mockery's Schizophrenic Narcoleptic which I had back at the hotel and it was fantastic. I'll try and make it to the brewery.
This thread is now relevant to my interests as future Mrs. TD and I will be honeymooning in Denver come December 13. Entertain my, guise. Obviously hitting a shit ton of breweries in Denver and Boulder and most likely snowboarding while we're there. Are there any other must see/do activities at that time of the year? I've flown into Denver several times on various snowboarding trips but I've never actually stayed in the city. Tia
Still trying to figure that out. Really like The Crawford Hotel but we may try to find something a little cheaper.
Possibly doing a bachelor party for my buddy in the Denver area in late january or February. We are looking into doing Breckenridge and doing some skiing during the day and obviously getting drunk at night too. Is this a good spot for 8-10 27 year old dudes? Or is there another area any TMBers would recommend for a crowd around our age? Thanks
Coming into town tomorrow and staying till Sunday. This will be my 3rd time in Denver this year, but the other 2 were during snowboarding season so I'm kind of lost on what to do. I have to work Wed-Fri, but can get away for a bit in the evenings and I'm free until my flight at 7 pm on Sunday. My gf will be joining me Thursday night and will be with my until Sunday night. I know there is a shit ton of outdoorsy things to do, so much so that I don't even know where to start looking. What's a good hike for novices? I'm 30 and she's 24 so we can still move around, just have never been hiking before #embarrassing #notcool Any other outdoors activities relevant for this time of year? We tried white water rafting but apparently the season ended last month What are some options for affordable, healthy, TASTY meals? Have any of you been to KavaSutra? http://www.yelp.com/biz/kavasutra-denver Never heard of it until yesterday but will be checking it out How important is a rental car? I have go out to Breck on wednesday so will have a car then. After that I am considering returning the car for the rest of my trip and taking public transportation, if it is sufficient. Thanks electronic bros
First question, where will you be staying during the week while working and over the weekend? Same place? Would be a good starting point on what places you might be close to if you opt to go no rental car/public transportation/walking. But if you do plan to do some hiking over the weekend, you pretty much have to have a car.
I was gonna let your guys' suggestions direct me to where I should stay. I can stay downtown in Lodo (Hyatt, SPG properties) but would have to pay $30/night, or I can stay at a Sheraton in Tech Center. I get the feeling that it would probably be best to stay in LoDo and eat the costs for parking. However, I can stay anywhere I want all 4 nights. So definitely let me know if there's a better place for me to stay outside of Denver for all or part of the trip.
Wee Bey if you want to try hiking, I'd suggest staunton state park in Bailey. It's easy to follow and not too strenuous. That was our first real hike. We prefer to get a cabin outside denver on vrbo for the weekends, but that may not be your thing.
'Burbs now, but I pry need to get downtown. I've got 3 interviews lined up downtown in the next couple of weeks.
Linger happy hour is awesome. Went there with the gf a couple Fridays ago. Sat outside on a beautiful day and consumed $5 appetizers and drinks that tasted nothing like normal $5 hh apps and drinks. This shit was actually damn good. I encourage all who are interested to go. Also, former project lead contacted me last week about joining her on a project out in Golden. Currently in the works now but if it happens I will lose my damn mind.
ANTWONE i got a parking ticket early sunday morning. lucky i didn't get towed. just paid that sonofabitch online.
I misread the meter last Tuesday and that chick who came to the game with us got a ticket. She wasn't very happy with me.
yeah the ticket said "sat-sun" so I assumed it expired on Sunday. I didn't read where it said "expires 6:00 pm Saturday" btw I need more pretzels.
Had a badass sandwich of the day during GABF week. It was described as follows: Hickory Smoked Pork Loin, Bourboned Washington Apples, Aged White Cheddar, and Baby Arugula on a Griddled House Roll. So good.
Anyone else going to either of the following shows at the Gothic in November? Houndmouth - Nov 4 Moon Taxi - Nov 5 Going to both so trying to see who else may be there. Trying to convince a couple guys from work to go.
One of my favorites. When you going? It's close enough to work for me, just not sure when I'll be out of here.
