Any certain areas i should stay in? Going to use AirBnB most likely Me and the girl are thinking about moving to Denver so this is just a trip to see how much we enjoy it, just want to check out the local places
I moved from Watford City, but worked in Williston all of the time. What did you do in ND? Im still part owner of an environmental clean up company.
More experienced skiers/snowboarders than me, is it worth it to go out to Keystone/A Basin this weekend considering the weather? Looks pretty shitty, mixture of snow and rain. I have an epic pass for Keystone and A Basin, so not like it will cost me much (other than gear rental). Already have an Airbnb locked up in Keystone, so not sure what else I'd do. https://www.wunderground.com/us/co/keystone Was wondering if I'll be miserable out there. What do you guys say?
I believe keystone closed last weekend, vail will close this sunday. Breck is open until the 24th. Ill be at breck sat with the snow coming in.
The drive may be unbearable and if it hits the way it seems it might shut down 70 west of Idaho springs. It all depends on when you leave. When would you leave?
I'd head out there sometime Friday (anytime is possible). Supposed to stay Friday and Saturday night, then I have a flight to catch at 530 pm out of DIA. Given the possible road closures it almost sounds risky to go out to the mountains, both from a safety and missing flight points of view.
Forecast looks like shit in Denver, but A Basin is projecting snow Fri, Sat, and Sun so should be at least a 1/2 foot of fresh powder. I've been in California for work the past two weeks and come back to Denver Friday afternoon and I am 100% planning on being at A Basin this weekend. Most likely Sunday with a couple friends. I'd definitely hit I-70 before like 2-3pm on Friday to avoid any traffic heading out there. Vail is closing this weekend so a lot of people are going to be heading out there for one more weekend. You should be fine getting back to Denver on Sunday in time for your flight if you get on the road before noon...and that's if it's snowing really bad. What kind of vehicle are you going to have? Any AWD or 4WD? I've done a lot of Sunday morning Basin trips and then ducked out by 1:30-2 pm and there is no issue at all getting back to Denver in an hour and a half when the weather is fine.
Good to know that A Basin is a legitimate option. Luckily Avis hooked me up with a F-150 with 4wd. I plan on monitoring weather for Friday am keeping in mind to leave before 2-3. Thanks for the heads up.
Oh you should be good to go then with a truck with 4wd. It's been so warm in the mountains and in Denver recently that I can't see the snow sticking to the roads much. Especially if you head to the mountains early Friday afternoon before the snow picks up/has had a chance to sit overnight and/or before traffic then you'll have no problem. And then by the time you head back to Denver on Sunday the traffic will have cleared out and the snow plows on the interstate will have done plenty of work if it was accumulating bad enough in the morning.
thinking of heading there tomorrow for the day. It's our anniversary and we both took off work. I have flight benefits so we're flying in the morning, probably hiking around Golden/Mt Galbraith, then getting a late lunch and then flying home. How's the weather?
Tomorrow should be the last nice weather day and then a bunch of rain is supposed to roll in and stay through the weekend.
Mt. Galbraith is a nice little trail... I'd probably recommend going to White Ranch instead though... a bit less crowded and arguably better views. Just a few minutes further up the canyon than Galbraith. Enjoy.
Temps aren't even going to be dropping below freezing so I doubt it's really going to be snow. Maybe slush, but that's about it. Either way, going to Portland this weekend and it looks spectacular. Timing couldn't be better.
ANTWONE i am finally back in town after being on the road all April. Can you pm me your cell so I can swing through when you are free?
Ended up hiking the Flatirons in Boulder. Absolutely beautiful and the CU coed scenery was nice as well, but this altitude is no joke. No time to get used to it and the first mile or so was nothing but incline. Great hike though
I want to get this right but I think I've ate and got drunk there before 97% of my flights out of town
Any businesses interested in advertising with BSNDenver.com? I've got some spots open, specifically for the BSNBuffs site that are open and available.
Hiked Boulder today (Green Mountain). Ate at Torchy's. Mowed my lawn finally after being out of town for nearly 2 months for work. Hell of a day. Don't think I'll be traveling for work for the immediate future and couldn't be happier. I love this city and state.
Spent most of the day at the pool then went and saw a talking heads cover band at Cervantes. Nooooot bad.
I feel like I should move. RiNo/Five Points, LoHi, or Cap Hill are the favorites so far Golden Triangle is a dark horse
I can see that. I've lived at 20th and Penn, 22nd and Clarkson, 20th and Race, 13th and Lafayette and 11th and Marion over the last 10 years. So kinda all around downtown without actually living in downtown. Each one of those locations was super walkable and had dining and shopping real close.
where do I drink before a Rockies game? pretty much my first weekend free in town, where should I hit the bars?
