Thanks man! I never joined my local Gamecock Club because I work in college athletics myself so it's hard to find time to go our local chapter bar since I work on Saturday's. I've been there only once, but I'd love to meet a lot of fellow Southerners.

Yeah man I'm definitely down to meet some other SEC brethren, especially those that graduated close to when I did. I was 2012 from UF. I started going to a couple watch parties for Gator games last fall and met a lot of the older guys who put our club together so it's been nice to make some alumni ties. Now I have been appointed as an officer in the club so I'm getting heavily involved and really trying to find some younger recent grads to get involved with our club or just any SEC alumni in general.

I'm definitely counting on the Denver expansion to make its way up there eventually. There are 1300 homes going up just in Midtown, and I'm hoping that along with all those homes there will be sufficient commercial/retail to support.

If I get in I owe you a beer at Bruz. We used your recommended agent and she is pretty great.

the Midtown moniker is fucking stupid imo.

that said, yeah, in 10-15 years that area is going to be completely different. Already heading that way with lots of development in the area (like the Aria townhouse/apartment/co-housing development at 52nd and Federal).

How does that work? Do you just do a recurring airbnb, or does this magical arrangement have a name?

12 homies got together and rented a 3 story house in vail November to April. I work in consulting remotely so I'll be in the mountains 60% of the time this winter. My lunch x hour of "training" will be devoted to ski activities. Plus I should have 9 weeks vacation this year. Which I'll never take because I'm slaving for promotions/pay raises

I've done something similar the past four years in Breckenridge with 15 other people. Our place sleeps 10, and I've had a bed 95% of the time.

Having a place in the mountains during the winter makes the dark days infinitely better.

Have a good friend who essentially looks over this cabin just south of Breck on Hwy 9. Neighborhood backs up to Quandry so you can walk down the street and around the corner and be staring at it. Back deck looks out to the Continental Divide.

So his former roommate's family owns the place. Family lives in Houston and comes from some oil money. His former roommate, who fucking lives in Denver, rarely ever goes out to this place. The family uses it maybe a couple times a year and the rest of the time they occasionally have family friends stay there or it is vacant.

When nobody is there my buddy is up there all the time tinkering on his dirt bike and just chillin. He usually invites me and a couple other guys up to just hang out for a night or two on the weekends. Myself and the other guys who have gotten the magical invite are now banking on this continuing into ski season so we have a place to crash to have close proximity to nearly all the ski resorts.

hey man I just saw this. it may just be me, and if it is, I'd most definitely take you up on the offer. if the gf is able to go, then we'll probably just get a room somewhere. either way I wouldn't mind grabbing a beer or something with you while I'm out there though.

going to Denver for a bachelor party 9/15-9/18. The brother/best man has done zero planning so I've been helping organize this. Staying here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2060544

The bachelor is dead-set on whitewater rafting, which unfortunately isn't available in Idaho Springs after Labor Day. We're driving 2 hours south to Canon City for rafting.

Planning to hit up a Rockies game either Fri or Sat night, not sure which day. Depends on when we get back from this rafting excursion. Probably going to go the left field bleacher route, any good areas to drink/socialize inside the stadium?

There is a margarita bar in right center and a rooftop bar above it in right. I would suggest looking on seatgeek for game tix. Bleachers are fun but you can get real good seats for around $20 at coors.

If any of y'all are at the SEC thing, I'm kicking it with some folks. I'm the white dude with a beard in the #4 Bama jersey.

I'll buy a drink if anybody can guess the #4 player that got me to get the jersey.

Our little Kia rental got stuck in the mud last week, so our hike at the abyss got fucked up. We did Staunton again instead. Such an awesome place.

What I'm looking for is access to a paved trail for biking, an apartment with a balcony that has a view of the mountains, and is walkable to some chill restaurants/bars, they dint even need to be that great, just local. Light rail nearby would also be a plus, I guess.

The apartment issue has me looking at neighborhoods near the city center like LoDo and the golden triangle. But I enjoy a more small town vibe, which has me wondering if there's a better fit somewhere else.

Joule, on Speer Blvd, is a complex that I think might work. That's where I'm at so far, don't have an offer out there yet, so don't know where I'll commute to. But I'm willing to drive if it means seeing the mountains from my balcony.

Really liked it there. A block from light rail. Two blocks from South Broadway strip of bars/restaurants. Easy to get onto I-25 or 6th Ave to get to the mountains. Their 2nd, 3rd, 4th floor units facing the west would have a clear shot of the front range. Only drawback is light rail and heavy rail tracks are right there. If you do contact them ask for James. He was clutch with helping me when I was still in Atlanta and looking for places. Their front office was a big reason why I liked my experience so much.

I always leave my car at friend's place in the Highlands neighborhood and request an Uber. Ends up being about $20 total and I don't have to mess with traffic. I would suggest parking on some side street in that area, walking down to Highland Tap and Burger for a meal and then going from there

but I am not a resident so maybe there are better methods
