There's a chance anyone we pick at 16 could be there in the second round. It's just that kind of draft this year. Rumors have been that GB really likes Butler late in the first if he's still there.
I have a feeling Tunsil might plummet down boards after that weed video came out today. If that happens, I expect Decker to go before we pick.
I think Ebron is going to have a huge year this fall. Seemed like Jim Bob was starting to tap that potential down the stretch.
I am not a big Floyd fan so I am glad the Bears took him. If he pans out though, that defense is insanely improved.
We could have the opportunity to pass on Tunsil and Jack. I wouldn't blame Quinn for passing on either.
It's pretty much agreed that Jack's knee is a time bomb. We aren't taking Tunsil. Even if Quinn wanted to, I just can't see the Ford family being good with that. The one time they've been willing to really look over the character thing was 2011, and that blew up so spectacularly that we've basically drafted only team captains since.
We're one pick away from definitely getting one of Tunsil, Rankins, Lee and Jack, and I love any of those picks.
I have a feeling we won't take any of those guys. Definitely won't take Tunsil. Rankins will probably be gone, and I don't think the Lions value another 3 down LB like they should.
Ragland would be okay with me. He's a good player, and our LBs aren't that great after Levy (who is getting older).
I think Decker is a tad better than Reiff, which makes us a tad better on the left and a shitload better on the right. Now they need one of the guards to learn to snap.
Which is fine. But it still means we're likely to be looking for a LT next year when Reiff leaves, because I think Decker is strictly a RT.
I hope he can but pretty much every scouting report on Decker says he will end up at RT or even OG. I don't see the OG thing personally, but I think he can be a good RT. I just don't see him every playing LT at a high level.
How many OL in the first 3 rounds is that in the past 5 or so years? All for a line that will still be middle of the pack. Disappointed that Jack and Lawson were passed on. Team needs talent and playmakers more than any specific position
If Decker can play LT at an above average level, this is a great pick. If he is a RT, this is a solid pick. The problem is Reiff is likely our LT this year and we still have Swanson at C. Until those things change, I am not sure how much better our OL can get. Thankfully there are still six rounds left.
For this year, I don't think we were getting better at LT unless we moved up to get Tunsil or Stanley. Even Conklin would have been unlikely to be an improvement at LT. Spriggs has a better shot long term at being a LT, but I don't think he's strong enough to play it now. If he was, I think he'd be gone already.
Bottom line, I think we're either a little better at LT and a shitload better at RT, or the same at LT and a shitload better at RT. Get one of the 3 guards snapping and the entire line is a lot a better.
