Probably nothing, but I do find it interesting that the lowest common denominator stuff seems to be most effective stirring up a response in members of the UM fanbase.
What are you even talking about? The conversation is about whether Valenti's obnoxious radio troll style gives the Lions reasonable grounds to use his presence as a roadblock to renewing their contract. The consensus seems to be "lol Lions, but you can understand their pont". Then "certain members" of the MSU fanbase feel the need to white knight Valenti because he's a Sparty.
Let me rephrase in simpler terms so you can understand: Valenti is the way he is because your dipshit fanbase allows him to be.
1. Michigan fans bitch about Valenti and accuse MSU fans of white knighting him him 2. Taylor says something about Valenti catering to the lowest common denominator 3. I point out that the lowest common denominator he caters to is actually the Michigan fanbase. Not sure why that upsets you so much. Take it easy man, it's a Sunday morning.
Did you read the rest of that post? It wasn't just a umad... You never even refuted my point, merely seemed to have an issue it wasn't directly relating to the lions or something.
You didn't make any points worth refuting. Lions fans pointed out that Valenti is a troll, and maybe that's why the Lions don't want him as the front man on their flagship. Vin made it about Michigan. You got right in line. I'm mad.
I think he's pretty funny generally and I wish he had a partner who wasn't an idiot. All I'm saying is that he should look in the mirror before getting indignant. The Lions are obviously idiots, but his career is based on drawing the exact sort of reaction he got from them.
Anyone want to take a bet on if Vinegar Strokes has ever bitched about UM/MSU coverage in the FreeP or DetNews?
You're right. By saying "this is not about MSU", I'm bringing up MSU. You must really be bored this morning.
This is what you actually said. It was in response to a series of posts in which neither post mentioned or implied anything about MSU/UM
If given the choice between Hackenberg and Cardale in the 4th round of the draft, would you take one, the other or neither? I don't know if either of them have what it takes mentally to learn the NFL game, but they both have the physical abilities.
Hackenberg is the college version of Stafford (looks like an NFL QB from far away, flashed early to build hype, shitty OL keeps people from noticing that he actually kind of sucks). So Cardale. But actually neither.
Kyle Meinke @kmeinke 36s37 seconds ago We're 13 minutes from kickoff. Ford Field about 20% full. (Maybe.)
Zero chance we lose to the Eagles next week. I know that if we do in fact hire a new GM, Caldwell is likely gone, but stringing together wins has me convinced that White keeps the job and as such, so does Caldwell.
Darius Slayer is turning into an eraser. He shadowed Cooper all game and basically shut him out (Cooper did have one grab while we were in Zone and two drops on quick passes that would not have amounted to much). He is really good.
That's widely known. If a new GM is hamstrung by having to keep him Caldwell, than White should just be named the permanent GM tomorrow. It'll be way worse if they go through the pains of conducting a search only to promote White.
"After a county wide search in Wayne County, we've determined the best man to lead this team into the future is Sheldon White"
So I think there are 2-3 more wins on the schedule, which should put us in the 6th to 8th draft pick range. Laying an egg on Thanksgiving would really help push us into the top 5.
Sorry, why am I tagged here? I supported Valenti on this issue and condemned the Lions' blatant faggotry ...
Constant was cranky and you had the unfortunate position of being the first ITT to bring up MSU / um during that topic. Don't disagree with your take on the whole.
Ernie Accorsi has been contracted to lead the GM search. He was easily the best person to pick. My faith level has increased some with his news.
Lions president Rod Wood said that Ernie Accorsi pledged exclusivity to Detroit. So he'll only be consulting for them for this hiring cycle. 2:25pm - 25 Nov 15 Accorsi has had a nice track record of people he has hired moving up through the front office ranks. Very happy by this move.
Also of note is that Accorsi helped Carolina hire Dave Gettleman and Chicago hire Ryan Pace. The jury is still out on Pace, but clearly Gettleman has done a great job with the Panthers.
I must admit to never having watched a Camthers game in my 10+ years here. Turned down an invite to a luxury suite for a game earlier this season. I'm not gonna bandwagon now. 15 years in AZ, and zero fucks ever given for the Cardinals. I'm a Lions fan, for better or worse. Lol "better".
