Jerry CrasnickVerified account @jcrasnick Hearing the Jay Bruce talks may have lost momentum. #Reds having second thoughts about #Mets trade package.
It would be great if we turned around and traded with them again. Heyman or somebody said we wanted Gausman from the Orioles, which I can't see them doing at all.
Would love to get Gausman from BAL. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 47s47 seconds ago #Mets talking to #Tigers about Cespedes, sources tell me and @jonmorosi. One of their many options.
Not sure if this guy is legit or not. He does have over 100K followers. Incarcerated Bob IBN @incarceratedbob 6m6 minutes ago **BREAKING MLB NEWS** Cespedes traded to Mets looks done... Pending those medicals so lets hold on here
I'd probably want another player back along with getting Wheeler, but at the end of the day I make that trade.
I'm not giving up a ton to get Wheeler. He's coming off what most have said was a more complicated form of Tommy John, and already will have 2.5 years of service under his belt. The most optimistic return date I've seen for him at this point is next June. Sure, I'd deal Cespedes for him straight up, but I'd rather have a prospect package, and I wouldn't prioritize Wheeler over several of those prospects.
I'm convinced - give me three dudes of varying prospectiness, and if I need to include Hill to get Matz, okay.
Also, I can't see Reboot Dave being all that interested in a guy who probably won't be full strength until '17 and has already pitched a couple years in the majors. I'd really rather just trade Cespedes for prospects. I don't want to include Hill - the goal is bulding solid depth as much as it is in getting 1 more prospect. Aside from JD next year is he hasn't been extended, this is the last time we'll have the opportunity to sell quality rentals for prospects for some time.
i think this is legit account. Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 1m1 minute ago The #Tigers real close to moving Cespedes. The #whitesox involved but not the favorite
Not only do I have a 4pm meeting on a Friday, it also starts at the exact same time as the trade deadline, when all the final deals roll in. Screw this.
Ausmus said Price was in his top three of all baseball people he's met "In terms of being a good teammate." "Luis Gonzalez," Ausmus said. "Jeff Bagwell is one. Trevor Hoffman. They're the elite in terms of teammate. That's good counting, Dartmouth. And you played with Tram.

Jennifer Hammond says Fuller and Cessa are the players on receiving end for #Tigers in Cespedes deal.
Tony Paul #Tigers getting RHPs Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa. Nos. 7 and 16 prospects in #Mets system -- though it's a deep system.
Mark Anderson #Tigers get another solid starter at the deadline....Fulmer could be an innings eating 3/4 starter with the lower projection more likely.
Michael Fulmer | Rank: 7 (Preseason: 17) Team: Binghamton Mets (AA)ETA: 2016Position: RHPAge: 22 DOB: 03/15/1993Bats: R Throws: RHeight: 6' 3" Weight: 200 lb. Drafted: 2011, 1st (44) - NYM VIDEO Scouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Slider: 55 | Curveball: 50 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 45 | Overall: 50 Fulmer erased a hard-luck 2014 campaign with a very strong 2015 season as he moved to Double-A, putting him much more firmly on the map as a prospect. The Mets knew there was plenty of upside with Fulmer, even as he struggled a bit in 2014, as he learned how to use his often filthy stuff consistently. His fastball consistently hits the mid 90s, and he throws two separate breaking balls. The slider gets the most attention, and that's the pitch that generates the most swings and misses. His changeup has the chance to be average as well. Command has been an issue for Fulmer at times, but he's around the plate more often than not. With his results catching up to his stuff, it looks like Fulmer has a real chance to start in the big leagues. At the very least, with his power arsenal and aggressive demeanor on the mound, he could be a very good back end of the bullpen reliever. Luis Cessa | Rank: 16 (Preseason: NR) Team: Las Vegas 51s (AAA)ETA: 2016Position: RHPAge: 23 DOB: 04/25/1992Bats: R Throws: RHeight: 6' 3" Weight: 190 lb. Signed: July 9, 2008 - NYM VIDEO Scouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Curveball: 45 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 55 | Overall: 45 Typically guys who convert from a position to the mound are hard throwers who don't know how to pitch and are best suited for short relief. Cessa, initially signed out of Mexico as a shortstop, bucks that trend, profiling more as a starter who really knows how to command the baseball. As a former middle infielder, Cessa brings excellent athleticism to the mound. He also brings a solid three-pitch mix. His fastball will sit at 93 mph, and he'll touch 95 mph on occasion. His breaking ball is a bit slurvy but has shown improvement, and he has the makings of a Major League average changeup. More than anything, he throws a ton of strikes, proof of which comes in his career 1.8 walks-per-nine ratio heading into 2015. The Mets have other, higher-profile starters in the system, but while Cessa doesn't have the ceiling of a Noah Syndergaard or Steven Matz, he could fit into the back of a big league rotation.
Mark Anderson Cessa is likely a reliever, but throws strikes and has big time arm strength; the breaking ball needs some consistency. #Tigers
Rosenthal One rival exec calls RHP Michael Fulmer, going from #Mets to #Tigers, an “unbelievable get for a rental” (Cespedes).
So how much money is coming off the books for next season, and any ideas of some moves that might happen this offseason? Like targetting FAs
I imagine we will make an effort to bring him back but I can't see any scenario where we are the highest bidder for him.
Nightengale When the #Tigers traded Cespedes to #Mets, they parted ways believing they'll be reunited again this winter
Tony Paul has been putting odds at 75+ percent that he comes back. Supposedly, he loves Detroit and they like him. I don't see us opening the vault this winter, though, which means we have enough to either make one huge splash (almost certainly would be for one of the many FA pitchers) or several smaller ones (multiple relievers, at least one starter, maybe a lesser CF or C).

About $54M gone from Opening Day in Nathan, Price, Cespedes, Raja, Avila, Simon Joba, - $2M from Kins' contract, but Miggy gets a $6M raise, Victor a $4M raise and JD gets another raise. So maybe around $37M to spend before arbitration awards to have the same payroll.
