Really I'll just go ahead and tag Tommy Callahan because he knows a lot better than I do. Ok, that's actually on campus. Which is fine. The strip is walkable, downtown is too, but it's a bit of a hike. On the strip there isn't really that much worth seeing, but you got Little Italy and Tut's. Both have pizza and sandwiches. Chicken parm at Tut's is top tier, imo. Rama Jama's next to the stadium is a little closer to your hotel than the strip, and has great breakfast, and a decent burger for lunch. There is a place called T-Burger even closer, but I've never been, maybe Tommy Callahan would know if it's worth a shit. You could walk to Druid City Brewery. It's a tiny tap room, but they have the best beer in town and you've probably seen some of their (in)famous chalkboard drawings. Believe there is a good Chinese place across the parking lot. If you go downtown there's a lot more, better options. Black Warrior brewing is alright, but if you're going downtown and want good beers, go to Alcove or Loosa Brews. Post Office Pies and Heat for pizza, I think Tommy has recommended Heat. Avenue Pub is pretty good, had a strawberry burger there that was amazing. Glory Bound Gyro Co. is good in that it's a lot of different pitas, traditional and not. But if you want a proper gyro go across the street to Big Daddy's for some falafel and a hookah. Five and Chucks are good but little more expensive fare. I think the restaurant is open in the bottom of the Embassy Suites now, but if it is, its fine dining. Really well respected chef from Birmingham was opening it. If you have a car and can get off campus, Southern Ale House is just across the river and awesome. Great beer selection, great food. If you're in the mood to go to the hood, go to Catfish Heaven. I think the name is self explanatory. If you really want a classic Tuscaloosa experience, drive out to Nicks in the Sticks and get a Nicodemus.

I don't think so. They had it for a brief period of time and then it got shutdown because some jagaloon got caught with weed and a handle of vodka in his car while ubering. That may have changed, but I don't think so. Cabs are a bitch and usually not worth it, though its summer so maybe it wouldn't suck.
