Thoughts on a turbo lineup tonight. Only position I'm struggling with is pitching. Would Vargas be the guy?
Anyone else have an opinion? I like all three but have Encarnacion on FD and Morneau on DK at the moment. Duda has been the best this year probably out of the three, but last season the other two put of great WOBA numbers, Morneau was over .400 last year, but struggled so far this year.
As of right now I am rolling with: Archer Haren Norris Duda Murphy Middlebrooks Escobar Kemp Myers Souza
For me it'd be Carrasco. Pitching sucks today but in the end he is the best pitcher of the night and absolutely dominated the White Sox last year. If not him then yeah, Vargas just because I think he'll get the W.
Looks like my lineup. Anderson liri Norris Duda valbuena middlebrook dozier Blackmon cargo Myers Edit I thought that said Anderson not archer. Guess we got some similar bats? Move along. Nothing to see here.
Cashed in everything. Switched out Haren for Walker last minute. And then cashed in my turbo thanks to carrasco
Wait until the games finish to see who everyone switched to at the last minute. That's who we're going with after the consensus sharp play blows up our LU's. (but not Happ, pay up, don't be cheap, low scores will cash tonight)
Yeah because I'm going to advise anyone to change one of their safer pitchers to Taijuan. That has a chance to be much more volatile, while the safe picks don't usually kill lineups.
I was fiddling with my lineup all day, I actually switched him out when wtx asked which pitcher to play in the turbo.
They're will be a lot of variance tonight at pitcher. You'll get quite a few taking Kershaw with how poorly the Giants have been offensively, some on Price against New York, and then I'm leaning towards Kluber or Cueto.
Interesting. Curious to see what a venture with Yahoo money and technology backing does to add to the competition. I'll definitely check it out early and see what their structure is like and hopefully take advantage of the newness, like many others I am sure.
Yahoo sucks at paying out iirc. Hopefully they'll correct that. I don't think it will hurt FD and DK too much, but the small sites will probably go under.
It'll still create competition and yahoo will pick up a ton of people who have probably never heard of DFS yet. In the end this is good for us because the more big sites that get into it the more it will push other sites to offer incentive to play with them. Whether that means a lower rake for the site, point accumulation, or something else I don't care.
Used to only play FD for NFL but I like the DK interface and late swap for mba and MLB. Plus I love how they have soccer and mma. I'd like to see tennis
Definitely agree that more big sites will help push competition from what is essentially a monopoly between FD and DK. I am curious to see what they do to attain players, heavy incentives, free rolls, etc. Also, it should be interesting to see how they do scoring, player pricing, what kind of competitions they offer, any innovations/features that currently aren't available. Summer is an interesting roll out time as Baseball will be in full swing and then use it to buildup to Football, which is obviously the biggest money maker.
So Looks like I'll be going heavy KC tonight with the Padres prices rising so much. Also nearly positive it'll be Cueto for me tonight though I'm still considering Price.
Yeah I'm going cueto too. Don't Hate Me Bro! Lots of punts in my lineup as I have freeman/encarnacion, kemp, and Cain in there right now.
Freeman's the safer play. Encarnacion has the higher ceiling. Freeman's had a longer and better history against Gee than Encarnacion against Jimenez. I'd go with Freeman personally.
I feel like stacking suits gpps better than cash games unless you're certain a pitcher is going to get destroyed. Pelfrey sucks but he hasn't been horrible either. I stacked the Indians against him his last start and it killed me.
Oh, and if you had the perfect lineup last night on DK you could have scored 300 points. Jesus Christ.
I don't think there is a better strategy for cash vs gpp in baseball, too much variance with hitters.
I've got Smith too and might go with Tomas. At $2200 and his ability that could end up being a great play.
There really isn't, you're right. I just think stacking is more beneficial in gpps because one team having a great game is likely to net you a great score. Similar to the Reds last night. In cash games, I feel like it's less risky picking individual players rather than stacking simply because stacking can fuck you so hard.
Yeah, honestly surprised it's even that high considering he hasn't scored more than 2 FPTS in his last ten games.
This is accurate. There's statistical evidence that it works better, cashes higher on avg comparatively, and more frequently, etc. There's absolutely different optimal strategies for each game type. Lol you agree then gave the most logical/accurate explanation of why he's wrong.
