I got home late tonight and told Chloe we would be going to bed soon. I realized 15 minutes later that she was far more serious about bedtime than me.
My long-hair dachshund Brutus had a piece of his rawhide bone stuck in his ear Hilarity ensued Disclaimer: Yes I'm retarded, and I don't know how to take horizontal videos.
AIP Steve Championship Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs? I've always wanted one. I think they're one of the most beautiful breeds. Where do you guys live? I'd be worried about getting one and having them down here in the South where the heat index is going to get to like 105 today.
I end up pulling gus on walks because of his endless pursuit of trash. Is there a harness or anything else that is recommended to save his little neck?
Yeah. He wont be able to pull as much. Also, if you turn the leash around and loop it through the handle like a noose and keep it high on the head, it will give you a lot more control, and he wont pull as much. Only think is it's hard to keep it up so high if it's not a slip leash.
I love Swiss MT Dogs. There's one in our neighborhood. Not as drooly as Berners and obviously less hair. But just as playful and goofy. There are so many breeds I think are awesome. I wouldnt mind my next one to be a bit lazier than Truman's hyper ass. I reallly want a Komondor Spoiler
Ohhh. Chewie would be a great name. There's one that goes to our dog park. It's a about a year, and his fur hasnt clumped up yet. He's 100lb cotton ball. I guess they get up to 130lb. I just want a massive dog as some point in my life. Would love an Irish Wolf Hound, but dont think I could deal w such a short life span.
We've got a few Irish Wolf Hounds at our dog park. They are easily the ugliest animals I've ever seen.
Dunno much bout the greater swiss, but what Truman said seems to be true. I live in Ohio, and our BMD definitely gets hot, but even when it's hot she still loves going outside. We just have to be sure to bring extra water when we go hiking or to the dog park. I would guess, but I can't say for certain that the GSMD would be better in hotter environments than the BMD, just because of having less hair.
It actually doesn't do anything to the jaw and head. When they pull, it yanks down on their snout which they don't like. Thus they won't pull. I've seen 20lb dogs with them and my wife and dog walker only walk our dog with one on because she will walk right by your leg when she has it on.
I want an otter hound. You pretty much have to agree to breed them, though, because they're nearing extinction.
I have a berner so don't know about a swiss but mine hates the heat, I would imagine that a swiss would too
Anyone have dogs who are incontinent? My 1.5 year old spayed pup has been peeing herself a bit the last few months. She also pees a lot when I exercise her. Did a urine test and culture and everything came back clean, so the vet is prescribing estrogen.
Doggy day care people, do yall just take your dog there 1-2 times per week or only when you'll be gone an extra long time? Places are really expensive.
My dog is 6 months old and she pees when excited, also I usually would recommend estrogen to female after menopause so makes sense to use estrogen with a dog that has lost its ability to make estrogen via spade. I know estrogen can be bad for humans if not used correctly but I haven't studied dogs and estrogen yet.
So that black lab, back in spring of 2009, asked TMB to find me a lab I could pick up in 24 hours, someone on this site found him in Kalamazoo, I lived in Traverse City at the time, called the next morning and 6 years later, he's the once in a lifetime dog. Kinda weird, can't remember who found him and glad I didn't let TMB name him as calling him Nigger the Pelican might have been awkward. Yes, that was during that whole thing. Here is the pic a TMB'r found ... ... he was a return so couldn't be alone or would tear the house apart, eventually had to adopt the yellow one and been fine ever since. And now with 7 nieces and nephews, he lives that glamour life ... so thanks TMB. And thanks in-laws for having a fuck ton of kids so we can just have dogs.
i had to work a little bit tonight at our offices. told my roommate to just put paige in her crate for an hour or two when he went to bed he said she kept escaping and swore up and down that he locked it properly but she kept getting out. finally said he got her in and blocked the door with a chair. there is no way in hell that she actually figured out how to open her crate unless she's been biding her time for the last few months, fake sleeping and plotting her escape i am pretty nervous about getting home and that my retard roommate fucked up letting her have free roam. t's and p's
my mom just sent me pics of their redbone puppy they are picking up in a couple of weeks. so freaking adorbs.
Is it the same spot? Abby used to be the worst. She would always pee just a little tiny bit behind the couch all the time. What ended up working for me was getting some Nature's Miracle stuff and literally pouring it all behind the couch and letting it sit there for a while. I then took some old towels and soaked up the extra moisture. She never peed inside again.
Bonnie is going to her 1st session of day care this afternoon. Pretty excited for her. Work has kept me absolutely slammed this last month. So I figured I'd let her rejoice in my hard work. Bought her 14 full days. They do day care from 9am-12pm, take a break then resume from 2pm-5pm. Thinking about starting her off with half days to see how it goes... will also spread that money out a little more which is nice. Possibly doing 3x a week. People that have experience with dog care, does that sound sufficient?
2-3 times a week, depending on my gf's work schedule. We buy a package of fifteen visits at a time, so we get a $4 discount per. It's expensive as fuck, but she loves it.
Layla sleeps the entire next day when she does a full day. At her place, they're never crated. The two groups just alternate between the inside play area and the outside one. They have pools and obstacles for them to play on, too. It's badass.
Feel like dog day care would be the best job. I would probably slack on doing important stuff and just play with them all day long
No, not the same spot. It's been anywhere she lays down. And it's not like she's squatting and peeing. She is, like, leaking piss. Pees all over herself as she lies down/sleeps.
The prices are crazy. Dog walkers look just as pricey too. I want to get a dog, but I'm concerned about being gone for so long during the week. Usually gone 10 or 11 hours. I would get a 1-2 year old to skip the puppy phase, but that still seems like a long time even for an adult dog.
