NY that's good you finally got your pup. I went and looked at that place you sent me the link to. They were really nice people and the dog was great. I'm still looking at it but I'm about to do a lot of traveling the next 2 months and don't want to leave my parents with a new puppy while I'm out running around. If by some great luck and they still have him in February he'll be mine but I doubt it.
My dog is going to be put to sleep tomorrow morning.Ive had him for 12 years and i hate watching him suffer the way he is right now.Hes a great pet i dont think im ever gonna own another dog. Damn this is sad i wish i could save him

I disagree. Un-pinned threads are very good threads, but I think pinned threads are the best threads ever.
My Amstaff Colby: she's about a year old - shelter dog being in the sun the dog destroys xbox headsets like its her job and has a bark that keeps pizza delivery guys all
I love my two. I had labs growing up and wanted something different & picked out Kovy last October. He's a great dog & we got him a sister. They are lovable, have a high energy but are cool with just sleeping i bed all day if I let them. Good breed that is starting to gain some popularity.
Re: We post pictures of our dogs in this thread this fuckin guy Since he wreaks havoc on the apartment we we leave, we have to crate him while we're at work. He won't stop pissing or chewing his crate. I had one of those metal crates (in the background of pic 2) with the plastic liner on the bottom. It was too big for him, so he kept peeing in the back of it. To top it off, he chewed up the plastic liner last weekend. I mean completely destroyed it. Instead of replacing the liner, we decided to get him a smaller all plastic traveling crate in hopes that he wouldn't piss were he lays. Hasn't worked, now he either pees in the crate or tries to spray out the door. To top it off, he's cutting his mouth by chewing on his crate. Any suggestions?
If he's peeing in the crate it's because it's too big, no way around it. It really doesn't need to be big, just large enough that he can turn around in. Pissing out the front sounds rebellious, though. Make sure you're not using the crate as a means of punishment. Give him treats in there, get him to associate good things with it. Also, if he's destroying your place, chances are very good he needs more exercise.
This is all very good advice. I'll add that you need to get your dog on a set schedule as much as possible. Most days I take my dog out and feed him at the same exact times: 7:00 Go outside 7:15 Milkbone, a half bowl of dog food and water when I leave for work 4:45 Go outside and Milkbone when I get home from work 6:30 Fill the dog food bowl up (often times he doesn't eat until then), fill water bowl up 8:00 take dog out 11-12 Whenever I go to bed...take the dog out
Stinky pretty much summed it up. Get a set schedule, dogs are much happier when they know what to expect.
Anybody know anything about English bulldogs? I'm hoping to finally get a dog soon and from what I can tell an English bulldog would be ideal. They're considered indoor dogs and I'll likely be stuck in an apartment for a few more years, plus they're low energy like I am. Do they have health problems (besides needing to be cleaned)? Are they super attached/jealous? I ask because I work and travel a lot, which is why I haven't gotten a dog yet because I refuse to be a shitty dog owner. Do they have any aggression problems? Good with kids? Good with other dogs? Any tips would be much appreciated, even though it'll probably be at least 6 more months til I can get it...sigh. Ps Assuming I get a male I've already named him Hank, just so I can call his ugly ass Handsome Hank all the time
My neice dog is a GSP. She's fucking awesome. She's getting to be about 8 months old now I think. I was over at my buddy's house watching the game last night and she curled up on me on the couch... love that bitch. I resubmit Tess My buddy's dog... might as well be one of my own dogs too. German Short Haired Pointer. "Tess" She's in the left crate... probably right when they got her (~6 weeks) Growing up She's the little spoon. Helpin her mom do laundry. Crazy lil dog
Smart dogs. Gorgeous. And lots of energy. I'm gonna get a video of Tess being crazy one time. She's a trip.
Yep excellent hunting dogs. Tess already has all the commands down. If my buddy was into bird hunting, she'd be a champ pointer and retriever. Funny as hell when she's running around the back yard and a squirrel or something catches her eye... she goes from 100 to 0 in .025 seconds and points. Impressive and hilarious.
german shorthair's are great hunting dogs, but you have to work with them or they can get batshit crazy
He could still get all the training equipment they have. Fake birds and launchers. Just going through the exercises would be great for her.
Buddy's wife's uncle breeds and trains them. That's where they got Tess. She certainly could be trained up as she's got the pedigree but they just don't have the time and they don't really want to do all of that as it's pretty involved.
Tess's uncle, Goza, is in the cage on the right... Tess is probably about 3/4 to 4/5 his size now. She's gettin pretty big.
our vets thinks our little black and white guy is mostly a GSP....he is the best dog we have had.....absurdly energetic.....had him my last year at school and I met so many people through him about to go running in the snow down at my old HS....will try and take some pictures if it's not too freezing
