Would love to see her run in the open. Bet she can really open it up. Uh, what's on in the background?
Episode of vikings lol. And I found a ball field near me so in the next few days I'm gonna take her over there and if they are secure, let her open it up. Just need to wait for an evening when its not 85 at night.
Also my friends wife said she thinks their husky can keep up with Nymeria. I was all "da fuck have you been smoking?"
Gus had this, but it's pretty much done for since we've started adding a spoonful of this to his food every day. It's $2-3 a can from our vet or online, just not amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Fruitables-Digestive-Supplement-fortified-15-Ounce/dp/B001E0L6Z8
Thought this was the most appropriate place to post. Guy annoys a pug to the point it bites him pretty badly, NSFL. Spoiler hardcorekickball feel free to tag any other pug-bros on here.
Came home for lunch to find Bonnie ate 12 hot dog buns between 8 and 1130. And yes she has been fed multiple times in the last 7 days.
I've started letting Nymeria have run of the house while I'm at work. No accidents and she hasn't chewed up anything. Get home yesterday and she decided to unpack a box of shot glasses I had wrapped in newspaper and stashed in the corner. Newspaper chewed up everywhere, couple plastic ones in pieces and general mayhem. Guess she decided to tell me it was time to put them on a shelf.
I just caught myself browsing the prices. Kaiser may not need the XXLarge, but I feel I owe it to him.
Kaiser update. He's come a long way. Spoiler: before Spoiler: after Today is his final heart worm treatment. They'll determine when he can be neutered based on his x-rays.
I'm hoping to find another rescue once I get some things settled down. Although Nymeria is pretty anti-social with other dogs so that will take some work to get her used to another one.
But I just read their process and holy fuck. This is the same people that I tried getting a hold of for a month before I got Nymeria. They now require you do to training with the dog through them of course. This is a $250 fee on top of the $250 adoption fee. I'm all about training with a new dog, but I'm pretty confident I can get very good training done around me for less than that. Then again I've never done a formal training program so maybe that's a good price? Just seems jacked that they make you take it through them.
If you're down for driving to Atlanta, the Atlanta Humane Society does free adoptions for veterans and they don't make you go through any bullshit.
When I'm ready I'll definitely check out their site. I really have to get my dog now socialized more things have just been so hectic. The greyhound rescue did ask me if I was interested in fostering. On one hand it would be great to get Nymeria some company while I'm gone. On the other hand my failure likelihood is extremely high. I'd keep one for a month or so and not want to get him/her up. I may consider it after the summer. I travel too much right now.
There's been someone bringing their pet pig to the dog beach in Chicago. Raising a big stink for some people I guess. I dont go that often because Truman is pretty indifferent to the water and I hate cleaning up all the sand. But now I want to go just to see it and how Tru would react to a pig.
last fall Rory moved 1,300 miles away from home with me to start a new chapter of our lives. Having him along with me has made the transition into an environment where I knew exactly one person (who no longer lives here) so much easier. He had bad skin allergies back in Nashville and now that he lives at high elevation he is doing so much better from that perspective at least twice a week he accompanies me on hikes in Medicine Bow National Forest. We've hiked the Flat Irons in Boulder and Horsetooth Mountain in Fort Collins. He has conquered the Snowy Range, where he was 12,000 feet above sea level. He has now eaten snow in 9 of the 12 months of the year (July/August/Sept still left to go). He turns 9 this fall so I am glad he is getting to spend the last half of his life somewhere that he gets to go on bad ass adventures. I was hoping to take him to the Big Horns for Memorial Day weekend but a snowstorm prevented that from happening. So hopefully this July/August we'll get to hit up the Wind River and Big Horn ranges I am so grateful to my boss for being as accommodating as he is. Every day at lunch I bike or run home and take him out for 45 minutes to an hour. I did not have that luxury back in Nashville, both because of a lack of flexibility from my employer and the traffic that would have necessitated two hours to accomplish such a thing. There were some days this winter where those walks were just insane but he absolutely loves the snow so I will put up with anything if it means he gets to romp around and use some energy during the day below are a bunch of pictures I have taken since late last October: Spoiler
saw a pug at the dog park today, fawn and probably 4-6 years old. Was running around with the big dogs like a boss. Did not help my need to hold off for a few more years before getting back into the pug game.
Clarification: not mine, just wanted to share hot girl and cute pug. Spoiler Yes, she is a porn star. Elsa Jean.
king blew a ligament in his hind leg. i blame my gf for neutering him. on bed rest for 2 months. 6 laser treatments will hopefully get him going. otherwise 6k for surgery Been stepping on his half eaten milk bones for days. Been giving him every treat I can find.
hormones. when you butcher your dog they dont produce testosterone. injuries are likely to be more prevalent. i was against it from the beginning because i dont buy dogs being more likely to get cancer with balls. and there are ways to cut off his puppy making abilities without fucking up his hormones. btw hes never been aggressive. so the only thing he gained was not being able to make more studs like himself.
