this is always in the back of my mind when people bring water containers to the park to fill up the dog bowls
Best way to forget about the fact I'm a Vanderbilt football fan is just go out with Rory for a few hours
Nymeria is sleeping on the couch with her eyes wide open, staring at me. That's not creepy at all lol.
My dogs were incredibly concerned about my well being tonight during the game. Then they got to celebrate with me after I woke up every other dog in the county
hahaha Paige was chasing me around the apartment as i was going crazy after the weiler kick. so confused
My dogs woke up after I yelled at the TV when Louisville went up, then just looked scared while I paced around for the next half hour
took the dogs to the park yesterday morning for maybe 35 minutes before the games started (they trotted around no dogs there)....rainy day yesterday took them for a 20 minute walk later that afternoon.....woke up this morning and my lab has a golf ball size lump on the outside of his right hind leg. hes very vocal when hes in pain i touched it and he didnt make any noises or flinch...no limp either.....of course im mildy freaking out...thoughts?
Man I don't know that I've experienced such a thing. Hopefully you can get in to see your vet tomorrow. Hope he's okay
Chloey woke up yesterday with the opposite problem. Limping significantly on her right hind leg, but nothing noticeable that would cause the hitch. Wife taking her in today since it was still not improved.
Q: should Sabo dress up as a giraffe or Snow White for Halloween? He was going to go as Tim Riggins but I changed my mind.
took him to the vet...its the same spot where they gave him his vaccines last week. not unusual for it to happen. got free anti inflammatories and free visit.....i feel much better now
Moving this week to a house that has a decent sized yard, however it isn't fenced. I want to put in a runner for the dogs, or just a stake with a good length of tether. Any suggestions for something I can anchor into the ground that would hold two 70lb labs? I've seen some spiral looking stakes, but I dunno if they would be good enough to stop a 70lb dog running full speed
Do you really want something of any reasonable length to allow freedom that will stop a 70lb dog running full speed? Because that seems pretty cruel.
I don't expect them to be running at full speed, and they'd be supervised. I'd go through training to teach them their boundaries, but I'd like to know that whatever they are anchored to is going to stay there if they get excited about something like a squirrel
Plus if they are tethered or on a runner, they won't be hooked to a collar. They'd be wearing harnesses so its not going to choke them out if they run to their limit
Yeah my dog Zoe got to experience her first big game. I was pacing and screaming and she would either look at me with a confused why are you so stupid look or she would try to jump up on me... However we have taught her to high five. We did that a lot on Saturday too.
Not sure why renting would prevent a run. They aren't permanent. I'd do an invisible fence before I did a teether.
Hey guys I am running a half marathon and decided to raise money for the aspca. If you can please donate to a good cause https://secure.aspca.org/team/daniel-ocean
Rory and I went on a pretty ridiculous hike this morning. We climbed up some boulder formation and got to a point where he couldn't find a safe route up. Below is me looking down at him as he patiently waited for me to get back down to his level
Took me a solid minute to see him. It was like one of those internet "find the cell phone in this picture" challenges
Had our dog like two years and never posted in here for some reason Her name is Mali. She's a mix of whatever the fuck and who the fuck knows. She's goofy as hell. Big ears, goofy body, long legs, just weird as hell but cute. We adopted her at a year old from a local shelter. Was incredibly shy and nervous at first but came out of her shell after a few weeks and now has the funniest personality. Smart too. Cliffs: dog awesome, love dog
Yes my wife bought a BB-8 and a Princess Leia hoodie for our dog. For whatever reason the dog loves them so idk
If all goes well Nymeria's cast comes off Thursday. She'll have a soft splint I believe for another few weeks. She is so ready to be out of the cast, it's getting hard to keep her from trying to run around the house and jump up on stuff. Then it's time to work on her dog socialization skills. Her people skills are great, dog not so great.
One year anniversary of Rowdy's amputation was this weekend. Went in for a recheck this morning and he is still cancer free. the chemo certainly sped up his aging, but he's still a very happy pup. here he is yesterday trying to calm me down after Sherman raped Julio.
Millie had a weird muscle spasm type episode saturday night as we were going to bed. About every 10 seconds all four of her legs and body would jerk. She was awake and had an odd look in her eyes but it eventually stopped a little while after she went to sleep. She was perfectly fine yesterday morning and all day. Any idea? I don't think it was a seizure of any sort but we were freaked out for a bit and considered going to the emergency vet.
Sure she wasn't sleeping with her eyes open? Greyhounds are notorious for sleeping like that and I catch myself freaking out sometimes because Nymeria will have her eyes open and be twitching. Turns out she was asleep and doing typical dog sleep twitching.
The other night she was sleeping on her back which made her lips kind of curl up and show her teeth. She also had her eyes open and looked like she was staring right at me. So fucking creepy.
