High skill cap on account of sciblade positioning. If you put the time into mastering her basics though you can stomp pubs with little more than a desolator and blink dagger.
Yeah that's the hardest part for me rn Also valve really needs to find a way to improve bot matches. Seemingly the only way they can make them more difficult is by making your own bots infuriatingly bad. Was just practicing TA on hard and the entire enemy team is knocking down our tier 3, and my four bot teammates are literally afk farming our jungle and don't come back to defend until the other team is on their second lane of racks. If I wanted to practice with peruvians on my team I'd just do ranked.
Over lunch was watching some pro games in my office on twitch. OG and Liquid are so dumb for roster swapping. OG got beat by empire! Also, switch over to Universe's stream. He's playing Void, and his 5K teammates are flaming him in Spanish and reporting him because they are walking into chronos and taking terrible fights. He goes 8-0-22 and they win, continue to flame their "mierda void"
lol, was watching universe too. He'd chrono 3 guys and their OD would force staff himself into the chrono. "Reported Void"
The Omni repelled him accidentally and he made the comment about Omni being nicer to him than anyone actually on his team haha
Also, the repel "nerf" has actually made Omni a better pro pick IMO. Makes diffusal much less useful since repel has a shorter duration now and can be reapplied faster than before. You have to use repel more reactively than proactively which is easier for better players. Probably see a bigger nerf hammer with 6.89
Easy to see why wraith king has such a godly win rate at 2k. Just lost a game where I watched my legion and axe constantly go after the enemy wraith king (with heart and AC) in fights while our backline got decimated by the enemy PA before they could even kill WK once. -25 mmr
As long as the WK is an efficient farmer and no one counter picked a PA/Lion/mana burner it's hard to lose.
6 losses in a row My mid drow and safelane PA just put up less HD than me playing sand king and our CM in a 58 minute game ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just went 11-3 on riki. Mid Invoker and carry Sven went 8-24 combined. Kill me, Pete. On another note, had my first game ever with Underlord, what a fun OP hero.
Another balance patch Omni rekt Icefrog clearly determined to get OD out of the meta. Base damage murdered. Mirana Aghs cooldown upped even further to 10 Kunkka hit pretty hard Seems like an attempt to just shake things up tbh. Nerfs to heroes that were being picked a lot by pros but not many of them I thought were real OP.
Mana cost hits to Oracle. Range on omni purification is pretty significant, repel nerf is only a two second hit at max level. Flame break no longer breaking channels seems dumb. One less way to break TPs at range.
It's funny, people kept complaining about the power creep, so we get mini patches with nothing but nerfs. Based Frog. Omni, oracle, and SD nerfed. Assuming disruptor becomes highest picked now
My last game was so odd we start out crushing them 11-1 they start team fighting and we end up down 14-16 slark and I(dazzle) crush their ursa who is 6-0 and he rages and gets the afk abandon and proceeds to feed courier to me we end up winning bc ursa went on a temper tantrum after dying once
How are they so bad? On paper he's an upgrade over Fata you'd think. Is the loss of Jerax to Bulba that huge? Guess they did start to fade last season, maybe this patch isn't for them.
EU is so wide open. I bet a non-Navi CIS team or Ad Finem qualifies for a major. Will be interesting to see if Liquid, Secret, OG get invites from historical prestige because they aren't very good to start the year. VP, Vega, Empire and Escape all look better right now.
Also Universe's twitch stream is so good. He has to be best offlaner in the world, maybe #2 with the Wings offlaner Faith. He's just clowning on people with Slardar right now
Random Dota over lunch Secret/Empire Alliance/Escape VP/AF. VP is running a Mirana mid, safelane Drow, solo offlane Abaddon, then Weaver and Slardar @ support. Literally wtf. Weaver roaming with brown boots and blight stone, not too shabby.
Universe has been the best offlaner in the world for a few years now. My favorite player too so he has that going for him.
Universe is pretty much the NA pub king. Whenever he plays against Arteezy or Sumail his team pretty much always wins. Just constantly carries games from the offlane. The only reason he's not one of the highest MMR players is because he plays on his smurf so much.
Update: he just played offlane Sven with a Venge as a dual lane vs a trilane. He went 11-0 and had 810gpm.
Funny to see Sumail and Arteezy constantly complaining about how unplayable USE is because Peru. Guess it's not just a trench thing.
Serious suggestion: join the DotP inhouse lobbies starting at 9pm EST. They cast nearly all the matches and everyone has been pretty cool. The bulk of players are 2.5-3.5k with a handful above 4K (typically a separate lobby.) It's a great way to play some fun, coordinated Dota... and have a game cast by knowledgeable players. If anyone follows him, Toffees has been joining the Wednesday night matches. Plays often, casts a bit too.
YOU NEVER PLAY AT NIGHT BC YOU ARE BUSY GYMMING yeah but then i can't talk all kinds of shit in all chat
This is probably the most frustrated I've been with this game rn. Fucking peruvian treant protector lanes with me, takes half my farm, never pulls, and then starts griefing when I'm behind in farm. When he claims I'm dying too much and I remark that he has double my deaths: "Yeah that's because I don't have an escape like you to run from fights." -Check his items -boots, aghs, orchid I don't even say anything else after that because what the fuck is there to say. I'm done solo queueing USE for a while
