you got tickets for the 25th right? going to be the longest 10 days ever haha. a $2 24oz PBR while Cooley is drunkenly stumbling through 3 Dimes Down is a beautiful thing. Where The Devil Don't Stay and Angels & Fuselage are just ridiculous live
Some Cooley songs for DuffandMuff Cartoon Gold Birthday Boy Uncle Frank Three Dimes Down Self Destructive Zones A Ghost to Most (my personal favorite) Gravity's Gone Marry Me Check back for more later
I think early Ryan Adams (especially with Whiskeytown) is similar to Isbell right now, so definitely check that out if you havent McMurtry is also a great contemporary who is sort of straddling country/altrock/folk simultaneously as well Justin Townes Earl, AA Bondy, Kurt Vile I think are all comparable artists also.
FUnny you mention Ryan Adams because I just came across him last night. Listened to a couple songs on youtube. I will definitely check his earlier stuff. Thanks.

Loved Whiskeytown, hate Adams in every other capacity (celebrity, solo, etc.). Can't think of another musician like that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRQGGhYAkAg No "Waiting to Derail" and "Dancing With the Women at the Bar" videos on Youtube?
Listen to Outfit, Panties in Your Purse, and Deeper In. That gives you one song from each and they all have a country sound
solo ryan adams is really good, why the hate? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlWFfgK3ph8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei-KbGzu1KA (really weird video)
Futurebirds did a 10 track deal over at Noise Trade. Not new stuff, but great versions of some of their old stuff. Free download here: http://noisetrade.com/futurebirds
DBT is live at 40 Watt in Athens tonight. You can listen live here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/tds-streams
I will ask here since they opened for Isbell for a while....has anyone listened to the new Doc Dailey & Magnolia Devil CD? If so what are your thoughts?
DBT lost a good friend/roadie in Craig Lieske and are apparently very upset, as they only played an hour long set last night with no encore. I understand that they lost someone close to them but I would still be pissed if I paid $30 for that show last night
And the couple reviews I've seen said it was the most intense show they've seen, with Cooley raging on guitar. None of the reviews complained about the length of the show. Some of the reviews I've seen http://www.threedimesdown.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4709&start=630 torrance http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=561498 http://southernshelter.com/2013/01/drive-by-truckers-40-watt-club-2013-01-18/
I listened to some of the stream. I think that it was just instrumental. Still pretty bad ass though.

Someone stole Patterson Hood's guitar: by Drive-By Truckers on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 5:30pm · Y'ALL, Last night my prized Baxendale Acoustic Guitar was stolen during our load out from The Blue Note in Columbia MO. It was custom made for me and was my most cherished material possession. It's a small, parlour type bodied acoustic guitar. I have written my last five albums on this guitar and am very upset. Anyone with any information about it, please contact us ([email protected]), no questions asked. It has made an already terrible week even worse. Thanks in advance,Patterson HoodDrive-By Truckers
