Nobody would have seen this coming after the lineups came out and it was revealed to be Chelsea's strongest lineup excluding Loftis-Cheek.
playing the regular starters after already clinching the title makes it more likely they would have a lackluster performance. That said, Remy and Costa haven't started together this season that I can recall.
Is RLC the only young player that they have that isn't out on loan? It just doesn't make any sense to me why he would have played this lineup. Hell, throw John Obi-Mikel a bone Jose.
You wouldn't start Mariano Rivera and you wouldn't bring on Obi Mikel unless you were trying to lock down the game Ake and Brown are also considered young
the studio crew trying to argue that Cesc shouldn't have been sent off. he knew exactly what he was doing, I don't care if he held his hand up.
for conversations sake, if it doesn't hit them in the upper body, but on the leg, is it a red? I say no
it wasn't a lazy floater either. not saying he rocketed it, but it was traveling pretty good. if he rolls it along the ground and it hits someone in the shin, this wouldn't even be a discussion.
Put this in the Swansea thread but thought I'd put it here as well. So I know its kind of lame but today I wore my Swansea shirt out to a local pub. There were about 8 English gentlemen. Half from Essex the other from Bromley. They picked out my Swansea shirt quickly and we talked about the season and the success. All of them but two were Chelsea supporters the other two didn't care for soccer but Rugby was their choice. Commented on the Ospreys which thankfully I've learned about and seen on TV. It was a crazy experiences actually talking to people who were at the match when Chelsea won the league and that knew what they we're talking about. They certainly were shocked to see an American Swan. One of the best chats I have had with strangers and was awesome to hear that they all said they were cheering for the US in the world cup and were disappointed to see us lose but so excited about the game. They all agreed that if the US put effort into Rugby they would be the beat in the world and quickly. However thought soccer was about 12-16 years away depending on how many Americans play in euro leagues. They were pretty down on MLS but agreed Gerrard and Lampard and Keane etc made it easier for Americans to relate to what British and others in Europe related to. Overall just an awesome few hours talking to strangers. Tldr- H/T hangs out with the British.
Holy hell don't remember posting that at all. Those damn Brits got us shit faced. Cool old guys though who were great and kicked our ass in pool as well.
They splashed cash on the worst investments this year. Not surprised by this at all. Hopefully Newcastle snatches a point this weekend and Hull goes down without question.
Think they beat out Liverpool on the terrible-ness of their investments? Woof, it must have been bad.
What's everyone thoughts on the games this weekend? Gonna be in Vegas and will probably do a 10 game parlay
I'm betting my grandson's college fund on Newcastle winning. Will be watching with him on my lap as his fortune grows. It will be a special day.
Id take Southampton to win as well. City have locked up 2nd. Getting 5th means everything to Southampton. +565
Their win % is still something like 20-25% higher when Yaya starts than not. Yaya, one of the best mids the EPL has seen.
I know he's gotten some hate lately but I love him, I mean he scored a brace without looking like he's gives a shit so not caring he's still really good
Him and Vieira are the 2 best EPL mids to me. Gerrard, Cesc, Lampard, Scholes, Giggs, Keane the next tier, I prefer the hebrew overlords. Essien and Makelele were beasts too.
I'm just complaining for the sake of complaining but it annoys me how NBC is hyping up "Championship Sunday" when the title has already been decided and the only really important games are the two relegation games. Who cares if people will be able to watch Leicester vs. QPR because all ten games are on the family of networks?
I'll never complain about NBC's coverage or promotion because it wasn't so long ago we could only watch like three games a week on FSC. They tried to charge an exorbitant amount for FSC+ too. We have it so good.
