I've only watched 2 minutes of the Arsenal match but how haven't they scored? 19 shots, 8 on goal and they all look like close range efforts from the shot map. Not that I am complaining.
I switched over after Vardy scored again and this is the reason Arsenal won't win the league. Trying to walk it in.
Just as a side bar can we talk about how nice it is that the one good season of liverpool was lost in the crash? Makes for a great thread.
it's all falling apart for Pardew. Similar run of form in league to what we saw at Newcastle. Haven't seen much trolling of Ned Yocho recently by Coachman. 5 straight league losses for Palace to start 2016
@henrywinter Klopp: "It's nice to be in the stadium where Jamie Vardy scores goal of the month but not when you are manager of the other team" #lcfc #lfc
Koeman with a near fatal slam on Wenger in the post match tunnel, so rustled. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsene-wenger-involved-tunnel-bust-7297928 Arsene Wenger was involved in an angry tunnel bust-up with Southampton bossRonald Koeman. Gunners boss Wenger confronted referee Lee Mason and fourth official Craig Pawson and accused him of missing a string of decisions as Arsenal suffered a serious setback in the title race. Wenger said: “It’s always the same with you.” But Koeman then saw the exchange and confronted Wenger before replying: “It’s always the same with you.” Koeman added: “You had 10 chances to score and couldn't take any of them so why have a go at them?”
IIRC Mason did the last Arsenal Southampton match where they lost 4-0 and he made some terrible decisions. I didn't watch much of this match so can't say if the officiating was bad or not. Still laughed. Arsenal looking like United circa November-December at the moment. In fairness they have created more chances but no goals in their past 3 league matches. Those 3 matches have featured just one goal overall.
I don't think he will be punished for that. After all, Wenger went unpunished by the FA for calling referee Mike Dean “naïve” and “weak” after Arsenal’s defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Owen Goal was our leading goal scorer for a solid month to a month and half to start the season. They'll score again just a cold spell. Can't close on a Lane Bryant right now but there will be some dimes with ankles behind their heads soon. Edit, side note. Forster was fuckin insane today. I wouldn't say anything he did was particularly athletic, but he was sound which deserves some credit.
One former Tottenham winger scored, let's see if Townsend can respond. I really am glad to see Aaron hitting a nice patch of form.
draw would be fair result. Watford better first 30, Chelsea far better last 30. PRetty even in the middle.
Yeah I agree with that. Chelsea had the better chances down the stretch but a draw is the just result.
You still get to play us once. In all seriousness, it is going to take a little time for the new players to gel. I think you guys will end up being ok, away at Everton isn't the easiest match regardless of their current form.
In the end I think it will be Villa, Sunderland, and Norwich who make the drop. I hope I'm wrong about Sunderland, as the Tyne-Wear derby is fun to watch (unless you pull for Newcastle) and Jermain Defoe is a top lad.
That's only our 4th win there this year and all the other three are in a relegation battle... It's not a fortress anymore
All I said was it wasn't the easiest. Villa is the easiest team to play on the road, therefore my statement is true. You are right in the fact you guys have been pretty shit this year though.
http://soccer.nbcsports.com/2016/02...ative-plan-to-break-into-us-market-will-work/ Pretty cool concept. Interested to see how it plays out
Serious question. Have any US kids ever been poached by a larger academy and moved there at a young age?
Swansea started something very similar three years ago by sending coaches and training staff to the states to work with American youth and started in the Milwaukee area and have a partnership with North Shore United there. It's a pretty cool program, North Shore even had the chance to go to Wales and train and see a match.
This is the list of Homegrown players going to Europe But in terms of teams signing kids from MLS systems, I don't think there's been many. There was a kid that Barca or Madrid signed a year or two ago that was only like 11 or 12
I just heard one of my favorite sports stars ever. I'm sure some of you know the answer so please don't ruin it for anyone trying to guess. Which player in World Cup Finals history has attempted the most shots without ever officially scoring a goal?
My first thought was Lampard. I don't think he scored a goal that was counted even though he had that one against Germany.
You would be correct. If Neuer had done the sportsman like thing and let Lampard score after that incident, he would be a god in England. But who knows how that would have gone down in Germany. He was just about to make the jump from Schalke to Bayern too. That would have been a great circus to witness.
It's really hard for the English clubs to sign non EU kids so all the Americans have to have some type of connection to Europe. Liverpool have Brooks Lennon at the moment who was able to secure Irish citizenship. We had Marc Pelosi as well but he was born in Germany.
I bet there are some people that predicted this would happen a long time ago. Just that Pep would be at United and Mourinho at City. I think I heard Sid Lowe say a long time ago Pep would prefer United so I'm guessing it's the less than stellar squad they've got that kept him away. My prediction is that the first three players Pep gets rid of are Yaya, Bony and Nasri.
