Picked it up last night, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Was just swimming along in a river, and a crocodile scared the living shit out of me.
I'm not very far through, but I like it. A few aspects are clear rips from Assassins Creed and RDR, but that doesn't bother me
No doubt about it. Like another poster said above though I like this game more than AC and I think it is more polished game than AC3.
I really wish Ubisoft wasn't so obsessed with forcing you to climb high things 28 times to reveal sections of the map. That got old by the second AC, it really didn't need to come over in to this game.
That is my thought as well. If you are going to rip off a game might as well rip off one of the best ever.
There is very little original Ideas in FPS now it seems. Just combine the things that have worked best.
Pretty much. I can't think of the last FPS I played and said to myself "this is new". Probably Bioshock.
so how does this stack up compared to Far Cry 2 people seemed to love it, but i thought it was kinda frustrating. I want to get 3, but I probably wont if it's too similar.
It is similar but improved in most aspects. Definitely better gameplay and less frustrating as far as checkpoints are concerned. I do miss the African setting though.
yea i did some reading on some boards where they compared them and i think i'll get it. The worst thing about 2 was that the enemies could spot you from a mile away eventho you were hiding. god that was frustrating. the weapon jam system was a cool idea but it didn't work very well. the guns went to complete shit after 5 minutes.
I somehow missed playing the first two Far Cry games but have really enjoyed 3. A couple of the animal bites have made me jump as well.
Enjoy (I don't want to spoil anything, but the mission where this song is playing is so awesome): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6h2kG1VXhw
