just get 12, you'll be hooked real fast. Also, what do you guys do when a player is unhappy with training?
I am pretty much unstoppable. I have won World Cups with Norway and Spain and just took the Brazil job since I've won everything possible in Europe. On the club side Rosenborg have become the top club worldwide based on reputation after I think 6 CL titles. I've won I think 150 straight league matches as no one in Norway can even come close and win by an average margin of 5 goals.
Just received promotion and won the Championship with Fulham. They had 30 points through 21 matches when I took over, finished with 89 points. Lost in the FA Cup semifinal in pk's to Arsenal. Team MVP was 20 year old American Juan Mora who scored 14 goals in 11 games.
So i'm in year 4 of my Reading save. Bought Ox for like 8.25 and he just got hurt on international duty, in October, and is out for 8 months. So irritated
I got Bonucci for 675k from Juventus after my promotion the Premier League, I was so happy, he's been solid through the first half of the season. Unfortunately, my month of January consists of matches vs. Man Utd., Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Tottenham. I'm going to get raped and my team is gonna be all upset and stuff :(
My years of developing youth paid off in a massive way. Finished +120 in goal differential in league play.
Do you honestly even have fun with that save still.....seems like you've been destroying for seasons now
Yeah I will probably start one at a low level Blue Square team or something but there is something nice about seeing the youth development pay off. Team is averaging an age of 23 right now and everything is locked in for at least 3 years that plays. Plus I do international managing at the same time.
Won WCs with Norway and Spain, now coaching Brazil as well as Rosenborg. Got the best young players I could from top clubs around Europe. I got about 10-15 guys who were 3-5 star potential and then played them as much as possible in youth and reserve teams for 3 years till they were considered homegrown then moved them to the first team. Have state of the art training facilities and top coaches to help them along.
Yea I just didn't realize you could manage national and club at same time(unless I read the whole thing wrong)
Yeah you can. I got canned first by USA Under 23 after winning Olympic qualification then Norway hired me for World Cup. Its a whole different type of managing but its fun.
I had a ton of international offers in 11, but couldn't get myself to manage a national team. just doesn't seem like it'd be that fun
Did you have any problems with players speaking different languages. Also do you have your reserve and youth team running 1st team tactics?
Haven't had more than 2 I can remember who had trouble settling in. I hired coaches from all over who spoke a ton of languages so that probably helped. Yeah everyone runs the 4-4-2 diamond I run for the senior team so they all find their right spots.
Started with Dover in the Blue Square South finished 2nd in league won the playoff and got promoted to the Blue Square Premier so far after two league games one draw and one loss, although I did manage to beat Milton Keynes 4-0 in a friendly
Signed a guy named Pedro Quinonez as DM when I was in the Championship. I believe he was pretty cheap, like 10k/week on wages, would dominate the mid in Championship, but I had to get somebody new when i got promoted to PL.
Still don't fuck with those, don't feel comfortable enough with it. I just listen to my backroom when they recommend training. If it's something I don't think works, then I don't do it, but I just listen to them.
I don't know if we're talking about the same thing. I meant the training levels or attack, defense, tactics, etc. You might have been talking about that too, but it sounds like you might just be talking about the individual training focus stuff.
Ball winner/anchorman. I got a guy that is a playmaker from DM, but I want a true DM. I was talking about going to the training screen and messing with that. When it comes to thing on the Tactics screen, I typically start the season with 'Teamwork' and then after a few months I try and do 'Attacking Movement' and 'Defensive Positioning'
So you just use the default Forward, Midfielder, Defender, and Goalkeeper training schedules? Sorry, I know I'm coming off a bit dense. Just trying to be sure.
Casimero, Lorenzo Crisetig, Aleksander Ignjovski. Crisetig and Casimero are basically the same, Ignjovski is the best defender or the 3 and also has more speed while also being more physical. Ignjovski is week in the air and lacks attacking and creativity, but sounds like you don't want that so it shouldn't be a problem
Well if I ever figure it out well I'll be sure to post it in here. It seems like it could really be a gamechanger for people who can fully utilize it.
Crisetig doesn't want to enter into negotiations, and I can't afford Ignjovski. Checking in on Casimero now
Made it to FA Cup Final and lost to Chelsea, who won the treble. Therefore I am in Europa next season. Finished 9th, and have been given a 22m transfer budger and a 400k/w payroll. currently spend 285 on wages. Now to figure out where to improve squad
Downloading FM2012 right now. I was addicted to 2011 for awhile, had like 8-9 seasons into my club. That laptop took a shit though so I am looking forward to starting over.
So... are transfers more like real life than FIFA in Football Manager? Players aren't all completely overvalued, etc?
Yea it's realistic. Aren't too many outrageous transfers but the good guys cost a good amount of money
Contracts can be a bitch though, the match highest earner clause is evil. I overlooked that clause on a couple of contracts on my Aston Villa save last year and it ruined my payroll
two annoyances with this topic: transfer-% of profit. I always put it when I sell, i avoid it when I'm buying contract-% of fee. Hate selling a guy and having to give him some of the money
I refuse to do deals with those in them. I think contracts are a little ridiculous because I will not give them something like 10% sell on fee and then they go and sign somewhere else for less money and without that.
if they refuse to give it up, I just offer the agent/player a little more signing bonus. Also, how do I know if a country lets me manage a club team at same time?
