Shit, why the hell would they write that into the contract? So they let him go for only a million pounds over what we bought him for. I guess it was protect him if we fell into league one, but shit, Another relegation battle next year.
McCormack wasn't signed until right before we started our first League One season so it couldn't have been to protect him.
He just signed a new contract in February, which at that point going down looked like a real possibility.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind being in the championship if I could at least reliably watch a decent amount of the games. I think I was able to watch about 5-6 games only this year through shitty online streams, and one in person. Following on game cast sucks.
It sucks that BeIn has the rights, they've got so much on their plate as it is so the Championship gets squeezed out of the picture most weekends. They need to do overflow channels like the EPL has, what is the point of having so many league's rights when you can only broadcast a small percentage of them?
Hyndman officially announces that he's leaving. If he leaves England, Fulham gets nothing for him. Fuck me.
That was pretty much expected. At least as a US fan there is a silver lining that he goes to a decent club. There's a lot of young yanks to be excited about.
http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...e-on-a-free-as-cottagers-circle-a3252166.html Seems like it would be an underwhelming replacement for Dembele/McCormack, but I guess you can't go all out on youth and need a veteran presence besides Parker.
Just signed a one year extension. I'm ok with it. He started to play better near the end of the season and gives some sort of experience/leadership to a roster full of teenagers and young 20 somethings. One more article. Could clean house this summer, which is probably needed. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...ulham-boss-slavisa-jokanovic-insists-11349066
Yeah he was never known for his pace anyway, I'm sure he could still do a job for you guys next season.
Jamie O'Hara is among four senior players released by Championship club Fulham following the end of the season. The 29-year-old midfielder scored one goal in 39 appearances after joining the Whites from Blackpool last summer. Defenders Dan Burn and Shaun Hutchinson and midfielder Alexander Kacaniklic have also been released. Sweden international Kacaniklic, 24, scored 11 goals in 100 games for Fulham while centre-back Burn, 24, featured 69 times in five years at Craven Cottage. Hutchinson, 25, made 42 appearances during a two-year spell with the west London club. Last month striker Kostas Mitroglou completed a permanent switch to Benfica, having spent last season on loan with the Portuguese side. The 28-year-old Greece international only made three appearances for Fulham after joining for a reported £11m in January 2014. http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/36489922
Schedule out. Fulham opening against Newcastle and only game on the opening day so hopefully will be streamable. Should be a great atmosphere, Friday night against a big opponent. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2016/june/22/fixtures-confirmed
Dembele to Celtic. Remember when Fulham was relegated but things looked okay because they had a bunch of good youth players? Guys like Roberst, Dembele, Hyndman, etc? :fartnoise:
Fulham had a deal with Tottenham lined up for 5 million. However they demanded that Dembele be loaned back for next season so Tottenham pulled out. So they sold him to Celtic and only got 500k because it was an out of country transfer. Fucking Christ this group is terrible.
Villa and Newcastle both going after Ross for at least 12 million. Which will trigger his release clause.
Fulham are set to make an attempt to sign Derby County’s Johnny Russell, Richard Keogh and Chris Martin if they sell Ross McCormack according to a report on Page 63 of The Sun on Sunday. It is widely expected that McCormack will be leaving Craven Cottage at some point this summer with Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Norwich City all ready to make a £13m bid for the hotshot forward. The Cottagers have become resigned to the fact that they will be losing the Scottish international and are now starting to plan for life without him. And the first thing they are planning to do to replace him is to try and sign a trio of Derby players. Two of the players, Johnny Russell and Chris Martin, are not only team mates of McCormack for the Scotland national side but would be more standard replacements for him. Russell has played mostly on the wing for the Rams while Martin has been a star striker for the club ever since he moved there from Norwich. The attempt to sign Keogh will be an attempt to address the defensive issues in their squad which led to them having the third worst defence in the Championship. With Keogh being the leader of one of the league’s best defences, it is thought he could bring that to Fulham.
Article today said Norwich may offer up to 15 million to fight off Villa. Honestly, if the can get that and land the three pieces from Derby, I'm okay with it.
Thanks for the quick transfer of KMac. I hope he plays his socks off for you guys like he did his first 2 years at Wolves. He was our talisman until he decided he didn't give a fuck when the rest of the team gave up.
Looks like Villa have moved in at the last second and may be getting McCormack. Either way, they need to hurry up and get that deal done so they can finish up buying who we need.
I guess we'll have to see who else we add. They scored a lot of goals last season and almost got relegated. I'm ok with this.
Should give Woodrow more time. I'm a big fan of him. He did very well last year when he wasn't injured and played. Apparently he has looked very good in preseason. You've also got Aluko, Ayite, Smith, Cairney capable of scoring goals. I would envision more of a rotation until something sticks compared to last year of starting pretty much the same two guys up top. Certainly replacing, what? like 90% of our goals from last season will be a chore, but there's some talent there and its not like even with mccormack and dembele it made us any better than relegation fighters. The defense stepping up is the big key.
