Strasbourg to win it. Wenger leaves Arsenal to manage his hometown club in Ligue 1 next year. Signs Sanogo who leads Ligue 1 in scoring.
Greek Super League match between PAOK and Panathinaikos was suspended after a mass brawl broke out. PAOK's manager was hit directly in the head with a well aimed brew from the stands, requiring stitches.
Drama in League 2! Strasbourg is up 2-1 now with 10 mins to go. If they dont win they could be overtaken by Lens as champions!
Insanity! Amiens scored in the 95th minute to gain automatic promotion finishing 2. Troyes scored 2 goals in the final 15 to comeback and win and make the promotion playoff finishing 3rd. Lens and Brest who were in 2nd and 3rd going into the final 15 minutes ended 4th and 5th, missing out.
Literally the last kick of the season clinched them automatic promotion. Apparently, this is their first time in Ligue 1. Like I said, insanity!
With how weird Germany is they are probably at an all time popularity there with some new successful album that none of us heard about.
Chilean or someone else fluent in Spanish can clarify but my understanding is Rosario won their derby over Newell's last week and a common insult is say you're their daddy and they're a baby. I'm 100% sure it's more interesting and entertaining than how I attempted to explain it.
Had a lovely time in Alsace visiting Strasbourg and Wissembourg in the dead of winter, so I'll always root for teams from that region
Beautiful goal too, looked like he let that run for just the right amount of time to move the keeper and then on quite the angle.
Latest edition of one of my favorite podcasts—99% Invisible—did an awesome episode on the creator of Brazil's infamous yellow-and-blue kit (probably the most famous jersey in the world). It gets at Brazil's connection with flamboyant play, growth of interest due to color television, Brazilian v. Uruguayan nationalism, those two nations' rivalry, and a lot of other interesting social topics. Highly, highly recommend it if you have 25 minutes. http://99percentinvisible.org/episodes/
Harry Redknapp hopes to persuade Benoit Assou-Ekotto to postpone his career in the porn industry to lace up the boots for Birmingham City next season. Seriously. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...er-benoit-assou-ekotto-pornstar-a7757926.html
They're great and usually send me down a rabbit hole. I resisted the urge to read the Hamsik and Bob Bradley articles today.
