Said it numerous times but it's never good for them when I see something and think I know how that feels
Unfortunately, I will not be the 2016 US Am Champion. Still have the Mid-Am, but doubt concerning me being in the 2017 Masters field is beginning to set in. Fuck.
So two of my friends and I are about to start a 3 round series with each player choosing a course (possibly 4 rounds with the last at the Turning Stone casino resort (has held a few PGA events)). Stipulation for the loser is to get a tattoo of a Mario Golf character. Yes I know, childish but we're still young, freshly out of undergrad degenerates. So with that said, should we go match or stroke? We're all pretty much even except for maybe some blow up holes from me.
you definitely want do to match if you are "pretty much even" because it will remove the blow up holes from costing you too much
Agreed. We had a tune-up round last night where they tied and I lost by 5, but I by far had the most pars/birdies. That's most likely the reason one of the other guys wants to do stroke.
I'd just like to state the obvious that getting a tattoo based on losing a golf match is really stupid
Somewhat agreed but warmed up to the stipulation. We're young enough that we can make a "stupid" decision and have a little leeway. When I'm older I'm sure can live with the idea that I have a tattoo on my thigh over a golf bet with no ragrets. It's not like the loser has to get PENIS tattooed across the neck.
I hate how majors slowly release their groupings/tee times. Just do it all at once you fucks. Anyway...the PGA Championship has released 3 so far and they are fantastic. Day/McIlroy/Mickelson DJ/Willett/Stenson Spieth/Sergio/Bubba
picked up a new set of callaway xr irons today. was hitting both the and the ping G series in the simulator, decided to get the callaways but can swap them if i want to. either way, they should help improve my always shitty iron game. also got the titleist 913d driver...just dont see the point of getting the new model driver when i like to swap those out every two years or so. cant wait to go to the range tomorrow, love getting new gear.
He doesn't do it, double bogey puts him a shot back at the Senior Open. This Atlevi guy is 7 under today with 2 bogeys.
was 2 over through 13 made a triple on the par 5 14th and just finished with 80. didn't make a putt outside of 7 feet all day. my jimmies are quite rustled
know that feel, golf rarely gives you breaks. Ive only played once in the last year because of work. Normally I play 4 times a week. Went out this morning and flushed a 7 iron on the first hole... hit the flag and into the water. Thanks for the welcome back.
Going in for an Edel putter fitting tomorrow at their hq just outside of Austin. 375 base price for a putter, would never do it but my in laws gave me a b day check and told me to buy a new putter with it after hearing me complain about my current one. Will be curious to see what they come up with. I've rolled the torque balanced a couple of times and they feel pretty great. Ugly as hell though.
Im going to be in Orange Beach in a few weeks. Any recommendations on courses? Im wanting to try and play at least one round.
Question for the club fitting people. When I bought my irons a couple years ago I had them bent upright. Lately I've been noticing my ball flight has been more of a fade and my miss a slice as opposed to the draw/hook I was seeing. Is it possible/likely that after a little while of playing with irons that are bent they will revert back towards the standard lie?
Yeah clubs can slowly revert back to their original lie after being bent. I'd take them to whoever bent them and just have them checked.
I want to do this but know I'd end up using one of my regular putters after they fit me for a monstrosity
The guy guarantees it will improve my putting after talking to him. We shall see. I'm gonna have to decide on the finish and paint fill options I want.
And buddy of mine did it and used the Edel 3 months before changing. They can guarantee you the world, but there's no guarantees on golf improvement
Yea to be specific he guaranteed it would improve my tendency to push putts. Maybe I'll get one and yank everything now
I believe that's what were leaning towards. I bought my irons from their pro-shop so I got a free round at Atunyote, but I'll probably trade that in for one at Kaluhyat (I may be able to trade it in for two but I cannot recall).
Just throwing it out there, I'll be in Ft Myers Beach for Labor day weekend. If you want to plan around me being there. I'm kind of a big deal
Look, I'm making a trip all the way down there. The least you yahoos can do is drive an hour or two to the gulf coast.
I think it's like 3 hours tbh I've heard this course is pretty good fwiw Artoo: http://www.oldcorkscrew.com/
Just got back from the Edel HQs. What an awesome experience. Before my fitting the master fitter took me on a tour of every stage of the manufacturing process. Then when we got to the fitting area there was a guy in there hitting balls on a trackman, he saw me come in and introduced himself and took me back to look at all of their custom show wedges and irons, all plated with silver. Turned out to be the CEO and he offered to sit in on my fitting to get an extra set of eyes behind my lineup position. Got out of there with a black E-2. I took a few strokes with my current putter and the fitter asked if I usually miss it short and to the right, my exact typical miss. They had me rolling it with such a better stroke and much more speed control in about 15 minutes. 15-20 business days feels like an eternity until its ready.
Played A Ga Ming golf course in Northern Michigan today. Wow, great course! Each hole was very unique and the views looking over the rolling hills into Torch Lake were "post card" worthy. Shot a 89 and was actually ok with it. Too many drives that just trickled into water or into the woods. Decided to go back to my 3 iron off the tee and just hit longer approach shots on the back 9. I have had my driver for 16 years now (because I am a cheep bastard when it comes to equipment), might be time to go hit some demos and find something that I can actually have some confidence in.
