Sigh. I had to stop hating him when I found out he was on the elite Team Edel with me. He's gonna test my patience if he goes side saddle.
Nope. As long as both feet are on the same side of the ball it doesn't matter if you're facing the hole (side saddle) or if you have your side to the hole (traditional).
I'd never heard of side saddle until the Larry David episode of Feherty when he was talking about how he did it. So weird.
I'm a big fan of his. He was on the No Laying Up podcast a couple months back and it was great. They talked about the spring break trip and he tried to say he was hammered the whole time without explicitly stating it
When I made that post I hadn't seen any of the current tournament. Saw he had a 1 shot lead across the ticker and the thought crossed my mind
Cross-post with the travel thread. I know I mentioned it in here earlier, but my trip to Kiawah is just around the corner. Have golf lined up at the River Course and Cassique (2 rounds each). Has anyone ever stayed on the island? And if so, do you have any dinner recommendations? Don't feel like trekking all the way up to Charleston each night. So would like to stay near Kiawah/Johns island. Any tips are appreciated.
Eat in the Ocean Course clubhouse one night. Nothing better than sitting out on that back porch with a scotch, cigar, and hearing the waves crashing after a nice dinner.
Probably not very bold. Dude has game like very few. How will his back hold up in the future? We shall see...
I consider it bold(ish) based on his current ranking and who he has to pass in order to reach top 5-10. He has all the tools and is young enough to have 5-7 years before hitting his late 20s to early 30s. That seems to be when the body starts to show signs of a violent golf swing.
That's a super conflicted answer. One of those options isn't forged and has quite a few grind options. The other is forged and has very few grind options. Callaway's newest wedges are both forged and have quite a few grind options. Honestly, what is "better" is entirely subjective. Vokey I get because of the name. If there's one wedge maker out there that actually has more street cred than Roger Cleveland, it's Bob Vokey. But the Mizuno inclusion is...weird. I'd like to hear what your criteria is.
Playability, spin, looks, weighting, you know.....the things that matter. Grinds can be done custom by anyone with any wedge. It is obviously all subjective like you said though. I'm just saying, for me Vokey is best and I've found that I also like Mizuno wedges (moreso their irons than anything but they have good wedges too).
bought a 48 and 52 degree vokey. Black finish. Completes my set. Pw is 44 and also have a 56. I am legit starting to spin the ball on my approaches. Hit a 48 degree from 110 and it hit next to the pin and spun back 10 ft.
Watching Jeopardy and there's a golf category. The clue was the top American player in 2015 with 5 wins and this guy's guess was "Who is Els?" Ernie Els being the guess you come up with there is such a head scratcher
This feels like a good score if the greens and surrounding areas are half as tough as they are during Opens.
