The bathroom remodel is down to waiting for the frameless glass. Survived two large remodels in 1 year. Pictures will be posted after I can call it DDFD.
Building this right now. Decent size 12x12 shed that's going to basically have an attic. Love my house but I have no attic so a decent lack of storage for things like christmas decorations, etc. Like every project I start I totally underestimated the amount of labor this would involve. One day I might learn. Spoiler
There may be better/cheaper solutions but Sonos would definitely do that. Everything is wireless. You just need an outlet for each device. I have no idea how good their surround sound stuff is but I have Sonos in 5 rooms in my house and I love it. Extremely user-friendly.
I really like my sonos soundbar. A sonos surround sound set up would run you a pretty penny. They do sell wireless rear speaker kits (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/rocketf...lack/8275528.p?id=1171058476489&skuId=8275528), but I can't vouch for the quality.
Our builder put this peephole in as we went with a standard door for now. I was expecting a normal one. This thing is bad ass. http://www.doorscopes.com/product.htm
i check zillow at least once a week for areas in the country i want to end up moving to, just for fun i wont be moving for 2 years i have too much time on my hands
I look almost daily in 2 different cities that are 45 min apart and I have never owned a property and just about to buy my first car.
Booey loves Sonos http://www.soundandvision.com/content/gadget-gary-sonos-zoneplayer-s5#FAXojYjgB8HAH0CJ.97
Has any one added a bunch of indoor plants? I'm trying to get ideas on how to add color and life to my living room.
look at home depot. they have kits where everything comes delivered pre-cut and you can construct it in a weekend with their plans. you can get one for under a grand and it is a lot better long term than plastic.
Tips on pressure washing my wooden fence? Just bought a 2200 psi electric on amazon. Do I need to stain it asap or what?
When we first moved into the house we had a lot of shit we needed to store and I didn't have time to build one as we were renovating nearly the whole house. Bought a cheapo metal one from lowes that I put up in a weekend. It has served it's purpose but I fucking hate that thing, such an eyesore. This new one is going to have flower boxes under those windows, painted a nice color, etc. So going to actually look nice. The metal one is in the other corner of the yard so once I get everything out and into this new one I'm getting rid of it. Not really sure what to do with it though, guess I might just bring it to a metal yard even though it's probably only worth like $20 in metal. I will say this after building one. I thought I was going to save a bunch of money building one myself but it's working out to be pretty close to the same cost. However, my shed is way superior to one of those pre-fab ones. They usually are on 24 inch centers for studs(mine are 16), 2X4 for roof trusses (mine are 2x6), etc. Mine is probably over kill but I plan on being in this house for at least 15 years so I wanted this thing to last.
I look at zilow daily. My home has increased in zillow estimate by $30k. I know it's more, bc multiple homes in my neighborhood have sold for more per sq ft. There's 2 under contract now that would push it up an additional $20k. I'm hoping they go thru at list price, so that I'll have about5 comps that justify a $50k increase.
Zillow and other such sites project my home value has increased by a range of 12-15% since we bought it in November of 2013. Even if it's half that, that would wind up being a lot more equity than I ever would have imagined at this point, if we were to sell today. We probably wouldn't seriously consider selling for at least another 3-4 years, so whatever those sites say today (accurate or not) is pretty much irrelevant. However, it's nice to see. Certainly the listings we're seeing in our neighborhood are consistent with what Zillow and those other sites project as the market value.
Got the appraisal back yesterday. Came back at $20,000 above what we're paying. I was surprised it was that much for a new build.
Bought in December 2013 for 670 Zestimate®:$880,671 Zestimate is not that reliable generally though. Spoiler I think the Zestimate is 120k low but we remodeled and that is not factored in
double RL for southerners, is now the time to layout some turf builder etc.? or wait a few more weeks since its about to get cold af again
What are you using? I've got spectracide in my basement and on my list per DblRL's advice. I've been told I'm hosting my girlfriends pizza birthday party next month so lip stick on the pig is going into overdrive.
Ended up going with a 1900psi one. Love it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00V7T2EO8/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1454954483&sr=8-4&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=electric pressure washer Gonna get this today : http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AS...1&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=fence+cleaner A cleaning solution is critical. Learned the hard way.
This might be the wrong thread for it, but exactly what do I need to do to extend the remote sensor on my U-Verse box? I've got the receiver in a hidden area, but if I'm actually using my television I have to open the cabinet or the remote won't work. I bought a shitty little sensor ir extender but I couldn't figure out how to actually make it work. Any help would be appreciated.
http://www.cumminlandscapesupply.com/PRICE LIST 2015 Official.pdf Think I'm going to get the riverstone this weekend and mulch in the next few.
Oh, and I'll take a pic of my neighbors backyard. You're going to rage. I think I'm gonna ask him if I can get rid of all his weeds and vegetation for him.
Excellent work. I see a lot of overlap with your basement and what we are doing. It is nice to see someone else's turn out so nicely as we are still in the demolition stage.
Yeah, I had a clean slate to work with. Took about nine months to finish. I have no complaints; couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
When we first moved into our new house, I wanted to build a shed in the back yard to keep all of my fun stuff so it wouldn't clutter up the garage (mower, snow blower, tiller, wheel barrows, shovels, rakes, etc). I put myself through college building pole barns, so I wasn't going to settle for one of the shitty pre-fab ones from one of the big box retailers. I drew up the plans for it, and the fucker was goddamn nuclear bomb proof and sent in my plans to the city to get the building permit. First of all, the city inspector had no fucking clue as to how a pole barn was built. The questions he had for me were those you'd expect to hear from a 16 year old girl. Even after explaining it to him, he didn't get it. Maybe I shouldn't have used technical terms and sent him a picture in crayon. He finally approved it and I was all set to start building when the city came back and said that it had to be 30' from the property line for permanent structures. 30' was right inside the line of pine trees in our back yard, so I thought I'd be good. However, being a new home owner, I didn't realize that the city has a 15' easement from the curb, which would have put the shed in the middle of the fucking back yard. It would have looked stupid just sitting out there like a retard in an empty parking lot, so I decided not to build. I was heartbroken.
Did anyone recently price out heat pumps vs Geothermal? Our builder is pushing for geothermal and looking into it a little I see a 30% tax rebate. I'm curious how competitive that puts it in price.
Appraisal came back $8K over contract price. What a great day. My realtor was stoked to tell me because apparently it is very rare for appraisals in this market right now (Colorado) to come in above contract price. Closing set for two weeks from today.
