Do the inspection. Better to catch issues now than later. Especially the roofs and. ceilings. I've been told HOAs in town home communities are not fun to deal with on roofing issues because they can't just replace the roof on one, have to do every one that's connected.

That looks good, I think that is what I'll do, and also run it around the corner to the fridge. (Haven't been home in a few days to show you a picture).

We're looking all over. This was just to get an idea of how much we're looking at spending right out of the gate to finish the house. We still got a ways to go as we aren't closing until February. We'll be hitting some Black Friday deals up also.

Anyone own a double oven range? Thoughts? Got a nice discount and there is no difference in cost between this and the single.

Never had one, but the first thought that pops into my mind is that roasting large items might not be possible. I can't tell how large the lower oven is, but you may not be able to fit, say, a turkey in there or something similar.

That was my concern and I was hoping that someone would have some experience with that.

I have a big green egg and typically do turkeys and prime ribs on it, so it's not that big of a concern for me. The wife does a lot of cooking and baking, especially around the holidays and I figured that it would be a help to her to have the ability to have 2 different ovens. I really wanted to go with just a range top and then 2 ovens in the wall, but it was either that or a pantry and I couldn't swing both.

They're nice to have, especially if you cook a lot. But you're limited when you need to cook a large item, like a Turkey.

I have no clue what I'm doing but we need to run a water line to the fridge and it'll have to go through 2 cabinets and behind a stove. The water line is currently connected to the sink and dishwasher. What kind of hardware should I be looking to buy to further split that line? I have no qualms with drilling through the sides of the cabinets and hiding it well enough. In fact, looking forward to that.

Yeah I can pull it out. Shouldn't be too much trouble to keep something snug to the wall behind it.

Is your drain line possibly plugged? Ours used to do that when the line would get plugged. Bought a mighty pump which is a lot less expensive then having a tech come out and do the same thing.

should be pretty easy then, just look at the connections on the angle stops at the sink now, and figure out what you need to connect to whatever size hose you are running across

    something like this

dont let them convince you to put something like this in

It's been a long time since I've seen one in person, but you don't lose that much size because you don't have the pan storage underneath like a normal oven. So it's not like taking your current one and cutting it in half. I wish I had one.

That's pretty much all there is to it, it's an easy fix. Depending on the distance, I would recommend a braided flex hose. Cost a little more, but to me it looks better and will hold up a lot better- last thing you want is a hidden leak.

So stay the fuck away from the saddle valve. Got it.

Basically just need a quick tee adapter for the cold water line and go with the braided flex hose. Any idea how large I'll need to drill the holes in the cabinets?

And what would yall do behind the stove? Would you fasten the line to the wall to keep it level?

Flex hose should have no problem fitting in a hole the size of your thumb. Maybe a little smaller, but it should be completely hidden at all times, so make it easier on yourself.

Wouldn't fasten it, doesn't matter at all...unless you are OCD and want it to look good back there. Pull it somewhat tight and you'll be good- it'll have a constant pressure on it so it can flip turn upside down with no problems

probably try and get it as low to the floor as possible in behind the stove, I would think that would keep it coolest

Btw I would see if you could get them to run a braided steel line. That plastic stuff has a tendency to breakdown. Mine caused a pretty decent sized leak in my kitchen before I figured out where it was coming from. It ended up being a crack in that plastic line.

The steel braided I think will hold up longer.

Bought a house on August 1st and moved out of my rental the same day. Just heard from the landlord who gave me invoices for the charges....over $6000. Over $1000 of it is landscaping (WTF) $3500 for new carpet (we lived there for 6 years and carpet was there from prior tenants). Basically I aint paying for any of this and am glad I dont have to deal with that shit anymore

Been there before. You have a ton of protection under most states landlord tenant acts. I would tell him to fuck off. Did you ask for a checkout inspection? We're you given a check out sheet and his expectations known to you? As for the carpet, there is no way he can stick that on you unless you basically ripped it to pieces and smeared shit all over it. You are completely protected against standard "wear and tear".

Check and see how the fridge gets its cold air

Most moden fridges just have a set of vents that transfer cold from the freezer.
These can get blocked by ice, or bags of stuff in the freezer, or to much loaded on the top shelf of the fridge

Check your lease because if it isn't in the lease that you have to maintain the landscaping, that won't fly definitely. Also no way on the carpet.

I've finally finished enclosing my yard. I am still working on building both gates and I need to finish the top trim on one side, but the dogs can't leave the yard anymore. For the time being, I just turned my old 4' by 12' gates on their sides and moved the hardware so that I have two 6' tall gates that fit the 8' opening I left for getting my trailer and mower in and out of the yard. The dogs just stand at the fence with a "da fuck is dis shit?" look on their faces(they could easily jump the 4' fence). Now they can go in and out as they please while I'm at work or whatever.

It's an old crappy goal of mine that I was going to chunk and then some kids from up the street showed up one day and asked if they could play ball. I was like sure. Those fuckers play every Saturday morning. They walk from a mile away too. There's a park 500 yards from me and the city won't allow a basketball goal, but they let local youth lacrosse teams practice there. Racist bastards.

Plus, the city will get that shit in the next day or two.
