My freshman year at LSU (1995) the chick that always sat next to me in Calculus was always telling me that Warrick Dunn was her boyfriend, and that he would tell her about how he was playing video games in his dorm room rather than go out with friends so he wouldn't be tempted to get with other girls. She also mentioned that he called her crying after he got stopped an inch from the end zone in their loss to UVA that year.
no but I googled her and found a quote from People magazine from 2001 and this one from a 1993 article: HTH
Bucs' Mike Evans: I wanted Winston over Mariota in draft 1 Tampa's second-year wideout said Tuesday that he always preferred Jameis Winston over Marcus Mariota under center. "He can sit in the pocket and deliver the ball," Evans said of Winston, per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times. While the Titans have already begun tailoring their playbook to make the most of Mariota's mobility, Winston's run at Florida State showed off his prowess to sit in the pocket and make throws. "I did my time with a mobile quarterback. That was fun," Evans said of his days with Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M. The majority of Around the NFL writers pick Winston to have the better rookie season, but so much factors into a young quarterback's success. It's anyone's guess which of the two will develop faster in the pros and it's arguably the presence of Evans -- a future Pro Bowler -- who makes Winston the safer pick.
Greg Auman @gregauman · More NFL futures: @BovadaLV sets over-under on Jameis Winston TD passes for Bucs in 2015 at 19.5; INTs at 17.5, passing yards at 3,750.
Greg Auman @gregauman Bucs' Dirk Koetter said he saw FSU spring football playbook at pro day. "Heck, Florida State was installing more stuff per day than we do."
Mehhhh.... Ever wonder why Ponder and EJ got picked up so ridiculously early? It's because they killed the white board sessions, which is a direct result of Jimbo's offense being as, if not more, complex as NFL offenses.
It's just a dumb statement - considering the limits on practice time, general football IQ of college players, etc. It makes you look like Delusional FSU Fan, although that would be nothing new.
Why would coaches go on record about our offense being as complex as their's for no reason. That doesn't seem like something you want to admit as a nfl oc....
I was just commenting on how much the Bucs suck. If someone like Belichick or Payton (or their OCs) said it, it would actually mean something.
Is it, though? In the draft lead-up, I heard a lot about how Oregon's scheme resulted in wide open receivers ("scheme winners") whereas FSU's required NFL reads and throws. Why the fuck would any coach require his QB to be a #1 overall draft pick in order to be successful?
We've been asking that same damn question for years. Most likely because Jimbo is stubborn as shit and thinks as long as you execute his offense to perfection it will always work. Jimbo's problem is he will initially dumb it way down like in Ponder's first year and when EJ would fill in. Once you show him that you understand the concepts and can tell him why this throw is correct and this one is wrong he starts implementing it fully. He has a bad habit of expecting you to run his offense like you can diagram it. He runs into problems when you have Ponder who mentally got it but didn't have the WRs nor arm to make the throws OR EJ who was scared to throw over the middle and refused to use his legs based on shitty advice from Coach Craig. Jameis is the only one who understood it and could implement it correctly, which is why our offense was very successful with him. Jimbo needs to learn to keep it dumbed down if his best QB can't run it fully and we're still scoring. He's very much an "academic" with thinking about it and won't run stuff that works because he thinks his other play should work. Like his decisions when he took over as OC to not play the lob the ball up to our tallest WR in the end zone play even though it was effective with Jeff Bowden. TLDR: Jimbo is a dick to his QBs and thinks every play he calls should work if you run correctly and wants his QBs to figure it out and he doesn't like changing things to suit them. This is something he has to do this year because we have no one that can run his offense like he wants.
I incorrectly thought the Bills OC made similar statement, but it was EJ saying their playbook was less complex than fsu's. It doesn't negate the fact that jimbos playbook is one of the deepest and most complex ones out there and that our system gives our alums a better opportunity at succeeding at the next level compared to other systems.
When you consider the success rate of qbs in the league its not that surprising. Most fsu fans were blown away that they were picked so high and thought they were bad choices. The complexity of the play book and their ability to perform well in whiteboard meetings was the reason why they were picked so high.
I assumed something noteworthy happened or he did something stupid again. No one cares that he wore a goddamn lightning jersey.
