Anyone hit the scrimmage tonight? I'm getting irrationally optimistic about this year. Have nothing to look forward to as far as my college teams
Yea Ngakoue and Fowler should be exciting af for years to come. I think the defense is going to be salty
Ramsey is everywhere. In the box to make the tackle on 3rd and short. Then singled up on the outside against Mike Evans on first down.
Joeckel needs to stay the hell away from the offensive line. It went completely downhill after the Yeldon fumble.
Probably important to not put too much into one game (and the Bengals are damn good). However, that was shitty all around. Oline sucked. Bortles sucked. Defense sucked. Coaching sucked. Someone told me we have 37 penalties through the first three preseason games. That lack of discipline and lack of attention to detail cannot happen. I also don;t know why we dd nto go to Hurns or Robinson earlier. Maybe coaches were concerned that our line could not handle Cincy's dline. Also, on coaching - can we please find a way to get Jack on teh field with Poz. Joeckel experiment needs to be over. He was absolutely abused wherever he played last night.
Pretty much mirrors my thoughts. I already had tempered expectations for fowler, but if Gus can't generate a pass rush in year four he needs to find a new job. Already see people clamor for Greg hardy, but I don't want him because 1) he's a giant piece of shit; and 2) I don't want him to save Gus's job. I don't expect an amazing defense, but they looked awful yesterday.
At least you'll have the benefit of going up against the Colts O-Line twice... That should pad the pass rush stats
How the fuck did Myles Jack not play at all yesterday? Could've won the game, but it's yet another opening day loss for Gus. If we lose to the Chargers next week, I'm sharpening the pitchforks.
We did not play our base 4-3 at all yesterday hence Jack on the sideline. I think that's a mistake but they are clearly trying to work him in slowly. I'm not going to go nuts if we lose after traveling across the country. But we need to win one of those next two games. We played well yesterday.
It's encouraging to see us competitive with a top tier team but man they were sloppy. There's no excuse for not getting plays called and run. They burned all 3 TO's with half the 4th qtr left and then took a delay call bc they couldn't get a play run. Idk if that's on the coaches or Bortles but that can't happen.
Gus isn't a good head coach. Don't see the jags taking the next step while he's the hc. At least they have talent now for the next coach though.
